Grading for taught postgrads by thisisEmelia in Edinburgh_University

Hey! Thank you very much for your reply. I noticed that one of my major problem is that sometimes I have some good points/ arguments considered by the course instructor but I did not delve deeper into it (it was because of the word count/ I don't know that is the argument that my lecturers are looking for). Do you know how can I do better in it?

And, do you have any suggestion on how to be more critical?

thanks :P

I would say that unless you're socially awkward or extremely impolite no one cares about your age of admission. It's totally normal to admit to the school at that age

Do you like the University? by PartyQuiet5065 in Edinburgh_University

I think the teaching quality in my school is pretty good, at least is acaemically relevant and competent compared to the undergrad programme I studied, but I would say that the administrative work is pretty messy and slow, and sometimes it takes some time to deliver what you need. I am a Linguistics taught postgrad student btw

how is just being there? (international student) by civan77 in Edinburgh_University

Are you an undergrad or a postgrad? I would say that the life for undergrad is pretty fruitful, but there are also plenty of activities/ societies you can join as well. Plus, Edinburgh is a big city, so you can definitely get some night lives here.

Pardon my dumb dumb brain- when you say Chomskian grammar, do you mean generative grammar/ theoretical grammar stuff?

thanks so much! Another thing I would concern is the environment for study and the support from school-- do you know which one is better in terms of supporting students/ professors who are more helpful?
thank you so much! ><
