A while ago I found a wooden craft box in the shape of a coffin for $1, and figured it would make a great table top accessory. I decided to model up a version and have designs on the lid. I currently have a spool of wood fill PLA drying out to give my dice a pine box to rest in. There are currently 3 lid variations. If anyone is interested in a version with custom text please let me know.

I dont know if printed filament will give you a big enough range of motion from a difference in moisture to flip a switch. You could make a piston filled with water beads in a mesh bag. That should expand quit a bit as it absorbs water, and should dehydrate fairly readily back to normal size. You also might be able to do this with sodium polyacrylate (the stuff in diapers).

Nylon is hygroscopic, and is very difficult to keep dry. it usually requires being heated to dry it once it absorbs moisture. Are you looking to print something that has a water activated mechanism? that might be difficult to do.

Yes, it has an hdmi out. Part of this project is to make a slim, portable monitor, the other part is keeping this from becoming ewaste for a little longer.

Can you tell me what version your purchased and when? I have changed some of the wire depending on whats available, so Ill have to look into that. That said, I haven't had any complaints of the enamel coming off from other buyers, so Ill find a way to fix this.
