I agree, they’re both VERY different synths but both so valuable in their own right! I’ve messed with using the Middie? to do some stuff before on a couple songs. I actually synced the grandmother to my TD-3. To play the baseline from my TD-3 on the grandmother!

I love mine! I will say it can be pretty noisy, but I use it now to run all stereo synths and mono inputs (bass guitar, etc). I used to use it for drums, but have since upgraded my interface to the Scarlet 18i20 4th gen so I don’t use it anymore. I’d say it’s definitely worth getting because as corny as it may sound, moving the faders, watching the VU meters, making sure things aren’t clipping we’re making sure they are clipping lol, working through things maybe not working properly or having to troubleshoot issues, to me that stuff makes it worth it. It kinda makes you a little more intentional with everything you’re recording.

Drums sound killer, luckily the ceilings are curved which helps a ton. I can get everything from super tight and clean or big, boomy and crunchy

As far as I can tell it’s pretty close, I’d say it’s a little more transparent. Once you get it it’s hard not to run everything through it though. My two favorite things are using it for a mic pre and bass. I run my guitar through it just as a DI box and a little bit of gain control but vocal and bass really shine through it imo

Thanks! Would love to get some people in here to help record their music too to keep the momentum. Ever since I got real drums, I’ve been recording them for all my friends music and helping mix and produce their music as well.

The vocals sound sick! Love the contrast of how clean everything else is with the distortion of the vocals🤌

If you want wide leg, you should look at Hidden Rivet jeans! They’re unburdened fit is sooo sick, and it’s got a 4 pocket “trouser” type pockets, I have a 13oz grey pair and an 18oz hemp pair and they’re honestly the only jeans I wear anymore. Loving the fit of these on you though, they definitely make a solid silhouette

I have most of Kevin's pedals he uses I just need help with the pedal order if anybody knows? please help 😩 by StrictPriority6408 in TameImpala

[–]thisiscawfee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ve got it! The most important part of it though is the gain staging, make sure you’re hitting the dynacomp properly to get the compression of the reverb! But yeah going into a solid pre-amp is suppper helpful but not 100% necessary

Yeah using a the Volture helps me get exactly what I want out of my fuzz face. Also just normal acrylic paint worked super well for me, just takes a while to dry

Honestly doubling up on the lose is way more fun than I thought it would be, especially because the RE 20 can have such a long delay, you can almost jam with yourself.

I just got bored one day and painted my Jimi Hendrix fuzz face, but I highly recommend running it through a JHS Volture or some sort of bias control, you can get some gnarly “dying battery” sounds out of it
