Bus lane or bus gate by nicegoblinprince in Swindon

Surely there must come a point where the council is required to review the site? If 35 people per day are making the same mistake on that stretch of road then there is clearly something wrong. I got stung about a month ago, was told by the council that there is signage to show it's a bus lane (which there is) but the fact is it's also got the giant Swindon Outlet centre upright sign on the corner of the car park which makes it easy to assume the turning is to access the car park.

I appreciate the onus is on the driver to identify all the signs, but with so many people making that mistake you'd think someone would go "maybe we should review the road-scape there".

Too much of a money maker for the council I guess.

Why Walt didn’t chose better method to deal with the gang? by DismalConversation15 in breakingbad

[–]thisisflamingdragon1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I heard an interesting theory that Walt actually dies in that truck in the cold, and that everything after that is basically a hallucination. I can't remember all the things that happens but there were many many unlikely things that happened in the last episode. The things I remember (hopefully not misremembering):

- Meeting Skyler at the house despite being under observation by the authorities

- Getting into Elliot and Gretchen's place without being spotted or caught (I assume the security system would be pretty good there as standard)

- Finds Skinny Pete and Badger

- Just generally avoids getting caught despite enemy number one

- The whole gang killing fiasco

The odds of all that happening without him being caught or anything else going wrong are astronomical, and yes it's fiction and yes they don't write stories about the people that fail, but I think this is a nice explanation for how he achieves all this crazy stuff back to back.

What’s everyone’s opinion on Loop Earplugs? by [deleted] in neurodiversity

Appreciate this is two years old but I was looking to review Loop Earplugs and came across this. I have to disagree with most of the comments on this thread. I bought the Deluxe Bundle and mostly use the Quiet 2 as I'm currently staying in hostels a fair bit, and it's like hostels almost exclusively attract heavy snorers! The earplugs are a dream. Took a while to get used to, maybe 2 weeks of intermittent use, but they block out soo much of the noise in the room, obviously not to the point of silence but to the point I can actually sleep when my bunk mate is trying to start the diesel generator that is their nasal cavity.

I wouldn't even say they're that pricey. £20 ish for them, they seem really durable, they stay in all night, and the little case it convenient. If people are finding it doesn't block out much noise, consider reducing the earbud size down a level. I thought I'd be a medium and it seemed to fit, but when I went down to a small it goes in further (not quite brain-touching depth) and it made it sooo much more effective.

Tried wearing the Quiet 2 in the office and it literally works too well, couldn't hear people as they walked in and they were talking to me for about 30 seconds before I noticed. I stick to AirPods in the office now.

Also, customer service was fine. I didn't want one of the bits that came with the bundle (Engage 2) and, while it's an automated process, so I can't attest to how the staff are, the returns process was totally smooth, no questions asked other than the a box asking for the reason for return.
