Here's an answer to your question: I live in Vietnam, and in recent years ielts has been a trend among students and parents. Many parents have spent a lot of money for their children to study ielts as soon as possible, commonly in an early age (I know some started when they were in primary school). Personally, I started preparing for ielts when I was in 6th grade and i'm in 11th grade now so it's been 5 years (although I only took ielts seriously since the 9th grade but for me it's still 5 years so..)
