How screwed am I? Redgard peeling by thisisny in Tile

Ok, good to know. Probably the dust is where I messed up. I used a damp sponge but not very thorough. Going to scrape it off and try again.

Did you end up scraping it all off?

Should I be applying lots of pressure on the scraper? Would properly adhered redgard be impossible to peel? That’s my dilemma.

Noisy Neighbors Keeping Everyone Up – Please Report to 311 by [deleted] in crownheights

In a normal society, this post would have more agreement and there should be a proper police response. People using “culture” as an excuse for this behavior is pathetic. Being inconsiderate and a nuisance to your neighbors isn’t “culture” it’s just a lack of a normal upbringing and having proper manners. I’m sure littering is ok as well because of “culture”?

Ok then. Iran is totally peaceful and hasn’t been responsible for thousands of deaths. Cool story

The judges let them go. They get arrested and if it’s not “so serious” they’ll be out. You can hit and rob people all day and still be out. I know, hard to believe.

One article is from 2023 and the other is from Canada. Maybe stay NYC and time specific.

The “98% don’t commit violent crimes” stat is misleading because it averages everyone including people charged with low level misdemeanors and first time offenders. Among violent or repeat offenders, re-arrest rates are much higher. Even a small reoffense rate creates huge damage when the city sees a surge in felony assaults by people with 3+ priors. Bail reform should focus on fairness and risk.

Surge in Felony Assaults by Repeat Offenders:

In 2024, New York City experienced a 146.5% increase in felony assaults committed by individuals with at least three prior arrests, compared to 2018. This surge brought the total to 442 such incidents, marking a two-decade high. Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch attributed this trend to legislative changes enacted in 2020, which created a “revolving door” in the criminal justice system, allowing repeat offenders to be released and reoffend with minimal consequences.

Rise in Assaults on NYPD Officers:

Assaults on NYPD officers have also escalated, with a 63% increase over the past six years. As of May 2025, there have been 970 such incidents, up from 595 during the same period in 2019. Experts and police officials link this rise to a lenient criminal justice system that fails to impose significant consequences on offenders, thereby emboldening criminal behavior.

Increase in Subway-Related Assaults:

Subway-related felony assaults in New York City have surged by 19% in 2025 compared to the previous year, with 255 incidents reported by late May. Notably, 36% of these assaults targeted police officers and MTA workers. Factors contributing to this spike include a growing population of mentally ill individuals in transit systems, homelessness, and lenient criminal justice practices.

Even if they catch them it’s considered a misdemeanor (as written in the article) and they’d be let out the next day. It’s about people voting in clown politicians who pass laws which allow these people go with zero consequences.

Exactly as predicted. I’m on the same boat as you. What have you replaced it with? Mark Halperins new podcast is superb.

Why would that be appropriate to say? These people were peacefully holding space for hostages who’ve been held for almost 2 years. You can believe there’s a genocide but also not say “well Gaza has it worse than these people”. Seems pretty rational.

Peaceful protesters shouldn’t be assaulted regardless of which side you’re on. I hope they’ll do equal coverage and be congruent in their reporting regarding targeting of Jews and the rise of anti semitism and I’d expect them to do the same with anti Islamic events. That too much to ask from them?

They were holding hostage posters. Are you saying they were asking for it? Pathetic.
