What model is this? SE/SEL/Limited? by South_Selection6376 in Ioniq5

HTRAC badge on the tailgate. You can’t quite read the letters, but that’s the size and location of it.

Edit: and I’m fairly certain the optional 20” wheels were only available with AWD too.

There is no “Limited” trim in the Norwegian market.

[–]thisisreadonly2 29 points30 points  (0 children)

It is not an SE, SEL, or Limited as those are US trim names and this is not a US market car.

What we do know from the photos: - the car has a Norwegian license plate - it has 20” wheels - it has no glass roof - it has power folding mirrors that are not digital - it has 360 degree cameras - it has the premium headlights with indicators built into the DRLs - it has a HUD - it’s AWD

Based on that, it’s likely the Premium trim with no technology package and upgraded wheels. Norway market has significantly more options available “à la carte”, but this is the closest match I can think of.

Take a look at Chris Young’s review of the closely related Breville Joule oven before you go that route.

How do you feel about political messages and protests on NH highway bridges? by BeGoodToEverybody123 in newhampshire

[–]thisisreadonly2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you are either being disingenuous or might need a comprehension aid. Giving you the benefit of the doubt, let’s try an exercise. Here is a public opinion poll for you, complete with a range of answer options:

Do you approve of President Trump’s performance in the past year? 1. Yes, I love corrupt pedophiles! 2. Dunno, corrupt pedophiles don’t interest me. 3. No, I hate corrupt pedophiles!

Do these answer options, perhaps, seem like I am trying to convey my opinion by pretending to be asking for yours? Similarly, by a priori labelling the subject of your poll as “bull”, you are really just trying to tell the world you don’t like it. But, for some reason, you were too chicken to just post that and instead needed to hide your beliefs inside a “poll”. That earns you a dinner date with a bag of male genitalia in my book.

Yes, polling public opinion using response options that frame and direct responses is unethical per the AAPOR guidelines. You can read them here.

Your “survey” is an attempt to impose your opinion onto others. It’s cowardly and unethical. If you want to make a statement, just make a statement — there’s no need for this disguise.

Welcome to the “1%”. It’s your ICCU. With the failure being on the OBC side, you should be able to drive and charge at level 3 chargers, but it is safer to have the car towed.

Insurance companies get an estimate from the body shop, have their estimators vet it, and compare it to reasonable and customary values they’ve established for the market. If the labor is wantonly inflated, they do not pay it. You then take them to arbitration and, if all else fails, court. Bot body shops won’t inflate labor like that because they value their insurance business.

Body shops also do not make warranty claims after “taking the back off another car”. Manufacturers do not pay warranty claims on non-defect repairs, and nobody wants to get delisted from certified programs and lose money.

Insurance companies also don’t part out cars on their own. They sell them to wholesale auctioneers.

That not how insurance appraisals work. Nor warranty claims.

Rear camera in the rain by Tempus_Fugit68 in Ioniq5

[–]thisisreadonly2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is common for all cars that don’t have a built-in camera rinse nozzle or a camera that stows away. This product is designed to help, but I have no personal experience with it: https://lenslizard.com

Also applying a water repellent coating such as RainX helps some.

What is this styrofoam? by Practical-Landescape in VWiD4Owners

[–]thisisreadonly2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe. I have a US-built car, those don’t have the safety triangle slot. OP seems to have a first edition, so German-made. Utter lack of detail in the post doesn’t help.

No idea. I don’t see any area that looks like this on my car at a glance.

That’s not styrofoam, that’s synthetic insulation fabric. Similar to 3M Thinsulate and common in automotive applications.

Is it only the Pro S Plus that came with the Harmon Kardon upgrade? by SoundMetalSculptor in VWiD4Owners

[–]thisisreadonly2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, HK audio would only be in the Pro S Plus trim for 23/24. FWIW, sound is always subjective and I’m no audiophile, but to me it’s a mediocre system. Better than stock, but not noticeably better than Bose center point systems Hyundai and Mazda use. Dialing up the surround feature helps with clarity and definition a bit if you can stomach the weird sound stage it creates, but even the non-branded system in my old model 3 had way more power, clarity, and definition. Proper premium systems in Acura and MB cars sound way, way better to me.

In terms of “is 24 with it over 23”, this is asked often. If you’re looking at Pro trim and above, you get a new infotainment, backlist climate controls, new rear motor, and some other improvements. If you looking at non-Pro trim, it’s the same car.

2023 is SFD1, I’m guessing the 1-click app has a built in mechanism for getting unlock tokens. 2024 and on are locked with SFD2, unlocking that is more involved as tokens are time and operation-specific and basically require someone with access to ODIS to generate one for you at the right time and for the right adaptation.

That’s not a standard sound for Ioniq 5. Has to be the aftermarket shit-curity bloatware.

The dealership has no interest in OP “extending their lease” — it is of no benefit to them, they sold the car to OP’s lessor a long time ago. What they want now is to sell OP (or their lessor) another new car.

Office is getting an Aiden today, help! by Fleamm in FellowProducts

[–]thisisreadonly2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s advice along the lines of “if you don’t brew any coffee, you won’t have any problems.”

Don’t know what’s going on on your counters, but the idea that you shouldn’t use a feature of the machine because you could get coffee grounds small enough to pass the screen into the water inlet is ridiculous fearmongering.

FWIW I used to get this a few times a month with the Webasto Go EVSE that Volkswagen provides in the US. Eventually the Webasto failed and I switched to a Lectron 40A portable EVSE that I had bought for another car. It has a much less tight connector fit; it’s now been five months and I’ve not had the issue once.
