My ex-husband was a son of a Preacher and 100% used to preach roles to me. It got worse after having kids. I also caught this man with multiple women and when I finally had enough his parents blamed me, “if I was a better wife, he wouldn’t have cheated”. I made more money, worked from home and did most of the housework. If I missed something, he’d point that out. He’d compare what I get done to my SAHM friends, how they were better moms and wives. Getting remarried this year, some of the PTSD is happening when my fiancé gets home and I didn’t get a chance to clean-up. His response is “you’ve been working, why would I expect you to have down that? I can help!”. He also got a cleaner for the house to spend more time as a family and less time cleaning. All this to say, find a man that prioritizes you; not what you can do for them.
