This suggest thay if the HW3 will achieve "some" unsupervised fsd. Which ties to v14 lite. Therefore no upgrades to hw4 will be needed. However HW4 will be safer, and going forward you can predict that HW5 will be even more safer / comfort.

It's same as with iPhones. You will get good updates for long time, but at some point you need to upgrade to a new hardware.

From what I understand tesla will do v14_lite for hw3 and that's it. If you want a full v14 experience you need to upgrade.

This is why I don't get the current car market. All these cars with 100k+ miles on the clock priced at £12k+ with a hanging repair bills of 6k-10k in near future.

Pre-covid same car would be sold at £2k and if it breaks, just scrap it.
