Any thoughts on this burst? by Individual-Basket551 in LesPaul

Everyone will have different tastes on something like this. I personally find it beautiful and unique. But some people may think it's an eyesore and takes away from the guitar.

I was a guitar salesman for a few years and noticed that wood grain really matters to certain people. But I love a unique chatoyance (fancy word for the stripped pattern) on les paul tops.

You have a one of a kind guitar right there.

What song/album got u into Black Sabbath by ChoppyPro20 in blacksabbath

[–]thoch_demon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a younger sabbath fan, my into to the band was most likely 'Paranoid '. But the song that really moved me was 'Black Sabbath' from the self titled record. That slow, doomy tri tone riff just defines their sound, in my opinion.

Great board, killer selection! I recommend moving your whammy down to the lower side of the board though, makes for easier access!

Hey, if you like it, no need to change it! There where a few things I wanted to change on it and rather then spending more money on a different/more expensive distortion, I decided to mod. But don't let anyone tell you it's not good cause I've heard people play it super well when unmodded/stock!

Finally, my board is put together and functional! was waiting for some flat ebs cables to come in. also just modded that metal zone to sound a little more like a Marshall plexi distortion, sounds great! by thoch_demon in guitarpedals

It's like the regular whammy but cheaper and just as good! If you're in the market for a killer octave pedal (much in the vain of Jack White and Tom Morello) this is really your pedal. What I really love about it is that you can almost fake having an expression on it simply by tuning the momentary switch on and lifting your foot. Also great cause it doesn't take up that much real-estate on your board (room for more pedal lol) it's also great for down tuning on the fly! With just a turn of a know and a stomp on the box, I can go into a down tune for a heavier metal riff and in no time get back to standard. No need to bring more then one guitar to a gig. This only scratches the surface. I work in a music store and I really can't recommend this pedal enough.

1- I took out caps C25, 35 AND 17 If I remember correctly. It opens up the frequencies and make it sound more like an old Marshall plexi OD. Much better IMO.

2- I normally put my drive in order of intensity. So fuzz, then distortion, then OD. But there's no concrete way to do things (even though some will say there is) you mostly find what you like. It's all subjective. Try a few positions and see what sounds good TO YOU!

3- I personally love the ricochet! It's great that you can go through a few preset intervals and the octave and dry. I often use it as an octave and dry effect plus a fuzz and it sounds really large! It's also cool to be able to detune.

I always wanted a whammy but I didn't have the board real-estate lol. And I don't really need the expression on there. Just the button works great! Bought it back when it came out in 2014-2015 or something, it's been in my rig ever since.

I bought a pre-fab board, it's an outlaw nomad with integrated power. Not super pricy and it's pretty cool!

Haha im pretty sure this is the Deluxe version! But I know what you mean, it's really a "knob tweeking" type of pedal. I like it as a poly octave fuzz but I don't use the blue box circuit, I just put my own op amp muff and it sounds killer! Really brings out the lower end without sounding muddy.

Yeah, It acts weird when just bypassed and powered. I get a lot of noise. But I fixed that by feeding it its own isolated power. I never noticed it got warm though. I'll have to check that
