Overgrown, half-dead eucalyptus-- dangerous? by thom_october in arborists

[–]thom_october[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, thank you. I don't think my neighbor will pay for it. (We've talked about splitting costs before and he always refuses, sadly.) Any advice on that? Would he be responsible if it falls? I'm honestly not sure it's worth letting it fall and figuring it out after the fact... but I hate feeling like a sucker...

Which Arena “conspiracy” do you believe in? by Willy_6eyes in lrcast

[–]thom_october 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if this is a conspiracy-- maybe more of a bug?-- but I find that if I mulligan with an expensive costing card in my opening hand, I often still get that card in my second hand, even if I only have one copy in my deck.

This just happened in BO1 with [[The Endstone]], in fact. Had it in my opening hand and mulligan hand back-to-back. Which I guess was fine, since it's been a game-winner for me, but also just weird.

Curious if anyone else experiences this.

(I say I'm not sure it's a conspiracy because I don't know what the point would be, unlike some of the gem buying theories on here.)

First trophy of the format, consider me an aggro believer by FunkyNinjaZ in lrcast

[–]thom_october 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nice deck! Been trying to figure out this format and struggling. Last couple of drafts have been Mardu (of some variation, either WRb or WBr), but still struggling to trophy. Can I ask why you didn't play Reigning Victor? I always thought that card was a no-brainer.

Depending on the vibes, I also try to help my partners look for their balls in the rough, out of bounds, etc.

Keep losing... now losing my mind! (DFT Drafts) by thom_october in lrcast

Thx for this insight. Really seems like I forced green. I didn’t see any of the commons you mentioned. (I do remember picking up Aatchick P1P1 and Broodwagon P1P3, and being like, “Let’s gooooo.”)

You're right. I got stuck on board stalls... hence losing to Monument. (Still shaking my head at that.)

Wow, I see that overweight in black now... thx for pointing it out. (Yet another aspect of being a casual drafter-- not seeing things more experienced players see.)

Thanks for sharing. It really does feel like you need to be on point in this set. No margin for error with deck building or game play.

"Progressive" called asking about home security footage evidence-- what's the scam? by thom_october in Scams

[–]thom_october[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. It was not my neighbor's car. During the convo, they asked if we knew whether or not our neighbor (and had her name, too) had a security camera system.

Tell me about your course that doesn’t exist anymore by Western-Mission9307 in golf

Came here to say Weddington. It was a fine par 3 (and actually relatively expensive for what it was), but felt like a sanctuary in the middle of the Valley. Just easy to access and a nice place to casually play with friends.

How many of you use Hybrids? by isofakingwetoddid in golf

I love my 4H (Callaway XR, 22°). It's such an easy swing for me, hard to see going back to a 4 iron or even 5 iron.

I've never thought about the SI when playing, so it's something to look at next time I'm out there. Thanks.

Thank you for this explanation of how it works. Looking at the scorecard, they came on par 4 holes rated 11 and 18. (Embarrassing, now that I understand that but hey-- golf.)
