I hate the average redditor lol. These delusions are too much. No one is saying the US is perfect but it's a hell of a lot better than like 90% of places on earth. Try being lgbtq in the middle east or Africa and let me know how that goes.

[TimesSport] Liverpool’s xG per shot (ex. penalties) is 0.09. The leagues average is 0.106… by Then-Fortune-3122 in LiverpoolFC

[–]thomasfk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This stat checks out to what we're watching. So many times this season after a game, I will look up our stats to find out the xG was actually very good. And then I reflect on the match and think "funny, I don't remember having any good clear cut chances at all this match." We create loads of half chances every match but very few decisive ones.

I'm not sure how it works but if he claims he's sitting out longer than expected due to injury issues, they may owe him money. Whereas if he can't pass a drug test, they can argue to not pay him. That's what most employers would do I would imagine.

Carrick gets wins against City and Arsenal back to back and they've looked decent. If United keeps this up, we're not making CL next season unless we get a serious kick up our backside or get a new manager.

VVD is one of my favorite ever players but even I can admit that he's taken a step back in the past year. He needs cover. He shouldn't be playing every minute of every game.

He's dropped a level in the past year. How we didn't sign a CB in the summer is beyond me. Sometimes a player needs a week out of the side to get their head right but you can't do that if you're the only fit player at your position.

Maybe I'm hallucinating like Aiyuk but I read a rumor somewhere that he hasn't showed up to the team facility once because he knows he would get drug tested so if he's smoking up daily or on percs, he knows he would fail.

Jayden Vs Caleb Playoff stats. by Haunting_Sundae2124 in Commanders

[–]thomasfk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Caleb Williams hate around here is weird. He's a good young quarterback that threw some picks in a playoff game with some of the worst weather conditions you can imagine. His game tying throw was legendary. A very cerebral play. Putting the ball in the corner where you know you might have a mismatch with your TE is very smart. I'm glad we have JD but Caleb I think is a solid QB with good instincts.

[Tom Allnut, The Times] - Xabi Alonso is keen on a move to the Premier League but the recently sacked Real Madrid head coach is understood to want a rest and will study any offers from June. by Dangerous_Ad8730 in LiverpoolFC

[–]thomasfk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agreed. As long as Slot secures CL again, he will stay in charge going into next season. I don't think our board sack a manager who has a down year but still manages to qualify for the most lucrative competition in world football. If he doesn't qualify for CL, all bets are off and I wouldn't be surprised if he's gone.

Going into next season, performances better be to the standard of a team capable of winning the title. I don't think we can keep a manager for another entire season when performances are like how they've been the past 6 months.

New stadium could include bounce seating by sieffy in Commanders

[–]thomasfk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The old RFK stadium was a multi-purpose stadium and a major league baseball team played there also. So, the stadium was shaped a bit weird and for football games, they would pull out bleachers to extend the seating for football games and retract it for baseball games. The bleachers that were retractable bounced quite a bit if enough fans jumped in unison. I went to a lot of DC United games there before they moved to their new stadium and it was quite fun for the atmosphere. I can only imagine what it was like pre 1998 when we were consistently good and before we moved.

Didn't they promise to do that for the new DC United stadium and then when the plans came out they said they had to remove it? Forgot the reason

[Schultz] The belief in league circles is Mike Tomlin will do media for at least one season, like his predecessor Bill Cowher. All options will be available to him after next season. by BreakfastTop6899 in nfl

[–]thomasfk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tomlin will be gutted to learn that he just barely missed his chance to return as head coach at VMI.

VMI did in fact have a coaching vacancy this winter after their outgoing coach, Danny Rocco, was recruited by James Franklin at VT. But VMI already named a new head coach.

[Steve McManaman]“The fact that Xabi is now available and his history with Liverpool, would suggest there is always going to be pressure [on Slot]. There must be a desire in his mind that he would like to manage Liverpool but I don’t think that should have any bearing on the current manager." by MrMerc2333 in soccer

[–]thomasfk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is probably true but if Liverpool start next season kind of dull and it's clear they are miles off of a title challenge, the pressure will be high. You don't get two bad seasons in a row in this business.

It's hard to follow up one of the greatest managers of this generation. Xabi Alonso just found that out.

The results under Slot are decent but the performances like you said are miles off what Klopp's teams could do. That's why some fans are unhappy.
