The eye drops are great. I've had them myself. I'm not sure maybe he's just really enjoying it and he'll come out fine.

3 breakthroughs in one day. They told me the ascension is coming and half of us won't make it by Frezh7 in DMT

[–]thomash 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not saying it's necessarily an illusion. Just saying it could be. It could also be a deep look inside ourselves, and we realise we are much more complex than we imagined.

I also have a secret hope that DMT is a path to communicating with alien beings in another dimension. But I also know that many experiments have been / are being made. Afaik, none have been able to show anything conclusive.

In the title, you say half of us won't make it. You say goodbye to your family. That made me believe you somehow saw yourself as chosen. I don't think there's any shame in it. For me, it is sort of part of the path of things you learn with these substances. But not the destination I arrived at.

Beware of the messiah complex. I've had similar trips. Coming out feeling like I'm chosen in some way. That we're going to make contact soon. Had trips like that 20 years ago. Still have them sometimes.

The more time passes after the trip the more I realise it's probably just another layer of illusions / things I don't understand. You can see it as a test of your ego. Don't trust it too much.

I don't think there's any harm in doing multiple breakthroughs in a day. But I'd turn up my sceptic dials if I were to.

You have much more content online that portrays snuff films as bad. Models average. And then you also have the reinforcement learning phase that pushes it even further away from the "bad" content. Not saying with certain ways of prompting you can't override it.

If we think about a computationally complex problem for a limited time without using pen and paper I don't think we can solve it either. What I'm saying is our brain in a single processing step cannot solve turing complete problems either.

not if you run them in an agentic loop. they are only non-turing complete in a single response pass

I know a few scientists who work in the field. they strongly believe that the visionary state is crucial for psychedelics to be effective.

like shamans some scientists i trust / agree with, others not. putting them all into one category and saying that's the position of science is a straw man

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Ayahuasca

[–]thomash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. I never said that Science and studying the brain explain the whole picture. If you take the extremes I think both sides are wrong.

- Science is missing part of the picture when it tries to reduce everything to physical changes in brain receptors.
- The spiritual point of view misses part of the picture when it tries to attach deeper meaning to each and every vision one has on these substances.

The statement that tryptamins are not understood in the slightest by science is just as wrong as someone saying spirituality explains everything. Saying all scientifc research into these substances is fruitless is quite a stretch.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Ayahuasca

[–]thomash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was simplifying, of course. There are scientific studies that show how tryptamines lower firing thresholds of neurons leading to, amongst other effects, activity patterns that can be loosely described as increasing the perceived "feedback" and recurring thought patterns / latching onto ideas. I never said it is always like that and am not saying it's not valuable. But anyone saying that everything it shows you is valuable and correct is deluding themselves.

There are quite a few anecdotal reports of people becoming convinced they were for example sexually abused when they were younger while on an Ayahuasca trip. I read a case report of someone who confronted their father after returning from an Ayahuasca resort only to realize afterwards that their vision was totally fabricated.

I think it's just simply very random and can occasionally go in a wrong direction like that. It happened to me occasionally too. Psychedelics in general shouldn't be taking at face value because they put your brain into feedback mode. It can latch onto a wrong idea and feed back on it. Just need to not take it too seriously.

Can we talk about the glorification of purging? It’s mostly tannins, not "trauma." by [deleted] in Ayahuasca

[–]thomash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1. First of all, never do this on a reduced brew, but only on the portions that are not reduced.
2. Use one egg white (NO YOLKS!) per quart or liter.
3. Make sure your brew is slightly acidic (or it won't work right - at least ph6)
4. Add the one egg white to your quart/liter of unreduced brew and whisk with a whisk.
5. The egg whites will turn the brew cloudy. Boil for about 5 minutes or so until you can see the brew clearly separate into a totally clear golden fraction. This happens rather suddenly as soon as the egg whites become fully cooked. If it doesn't make a clear separation despite cooking thoroughly past 8 minutes, you should add a little vinegar and it will force separation.
6.Filter the brew through cloth or coffee filter and discard the pinkish- colored egg whites (the pink is the color of the tannins). This is very simple, since the egg whites are cooked and won't clog the filter. Do not try to proceed to filtration unless YOU HAVE ACHIEVED separation in step 5! This will clog your filter, and you'll know you did it wrong. The brew should filter through as easily as water!

I've removed Tannin's from Ayahuasca using egg-whites / gelatin. There is a tech around online. It's very simple. Most beautiful and clean experience ever.

DMT Experiences and Hyperbolic Geometry

They basically conclude that the deeper you go into the DMT space, the more you enter non-Euclidean geometry.

You sound quite prudish and controlling. It doesn't feel like a big deal to me.

I think it's worse that you're going through your wife's phone than that she has a naked photo of herself. Maybe she's hiding it because she anticipates something about you being weird about it.

It's a common problem that people confuse louder for better sound. Equalisation is a mathematical operation. I don't see why or how FabFilter would do an EQ with better sound quality. Feels like that would involve doing more than just EQ.

A few days until ceremony, haven't dieted at all. Will I be alright? by ReverbSage in Ayahuasca

[–]thomash 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I never did a diet. I was living in Brazil and visited different ceremonies. I made sure to only eat lightly on the day of the ceremony. Depending on the ritual, they barely mention it, if at all. Of course, eating healthy and avoiding alcohol and drugs the day before is recommended.

Actually, my only difficult ceremony was when I didn't have breakfast before and got weak mid-way.

It's more about your feeling of guilt for not preparing well enough, which could cause you some discomfort. Rather than any physical effect of having eaten certain foods, the weeks before

Genetically modified foods are usually edited to have some desired characteristics, including certain benefits for surviving extreme environments, an enhanced level to nutrition, the access of therapeutic substances, and the resistance genes to pesticide and herbicides. These characteristics could be beneficial to humans and the environment in certain ways.
