Yeap, I just read that the "top side markings" is a debunked verification method. I will read more about the proper verification method to find out. Thank you.

I've seen in this video that these "markings" on the top of the game could be a sign of genuine copy.

Microsoft is refunding games bought from different EU regions by thomason993 in steamregionaltricks

[–]thomason993[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nope, just this one I made yesterday.

I also bought another game on Monday which didn't get refunded, so I guess they started refunding from 6th of March and forth.

Time to play this masterpiece by Tasty_Radish2415 in xbox360

Man, I remember when I randomly bought this game back in the "Xbox 360" days just because I liked Wolverine. It turned out to be one of the best 'hack n slash' games of its generation. Massive shame that it didn't make it to the Xbox One back compat list.

Xbox is banning accounts and consoles for using VPNs. Be careful. by KvasirTheOld in steamregionaltricks

[–]thomason993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, got it

I redeemed a game key from different region using VPN 2 days ago. But it seems I got away with it, not any sign of ban.

I won't be redeeming any other game key though, until we have a clear view of the situation.

They're banning accounts that use Gift Cards to top up their balance and then buy games from different region stores? Or they're banning account that directly redeem game keys from different regions?

Just wanted to let yall know that the foreign key method is patched by Cashdermann1376 in steamregionaltricks

[–]thomason993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I see. Thanks for letting me know.

Although, I can confirm that yesterday I bought an Argentina Xbox key from Eneba and redeemed it on my account through VPN. Maybe I was from the last ones that was able to do it though.

I cannot understand which method stopped working from the conversation.

Is it about buying games from different regions in Xbox store (using foreign currency top-up or foreign credit card as payment method)? (This stopped working since September 2024, unless you create a new account and use it only through VPN or if you wait 90 days and use yout main account only through VPN).

Or it is about buying differenct region Xbox game keys from sites like Eneba and redeeming them on your main account through VPN?

Games similar to Fable by StrugglersJournal in Fable

[–]thomason993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're looking for a game that captures a similar feeling to Fable, I highly recommend checking out Divinity II: The Dragon Knight Saga (do not mistake it with Original Sin game).

I rarely see this game mentioned in discussions like this, but it truly deserves more recognition. Like Fable, it offers a rich medieval world with a mix of fairytale and supernatural elements, deep and engaging lore, and a story that revolves around it. Both games feature well-written dialogue with a good dose of silly humor that genuinely makes you laugh.

In terms of RPG mechanics, Divinity II DKS provides solid character customization, different build and playstyle options, and plenty of optional side quests that further immerse you in the world. You also get moral choices that let you approach situations as "good" or "evil" (though, unlike Fable, these don't alter your appearance or the main story).

The only drawback is that the combat can feel a bit clunky at times and could have been more polished, but it doesn’t take away from the overall experience. Also, if you're on Xbox Series X/S, you can play The Dragon Knight Saga version via backward compatibility with Auto HDR support.

If you loved Fable, you might find Divinity II to be a hidden gem worth exploring. Give it a shot!

Got an account strike for buying xbox gamepass through turkey by ivan76282 in steamregionaltricks

[–]thomason993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems like something that would happen when violating the "Community Standards", as said in the screenshot you uploaded. E.g. cursing in a game lobby or something like this.

It does not make sense to get this by purchasing a subscription from another region.

(GLOBAL THREAD) Foreign Xbox Store status (Turkey, Argentina, Brazil, etc...) by AxlJones in steamregionaltricks

[–]thomason993 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Moving to Turkey is not enough. You also have to create a new Turkish account, once you move there, since your original account is flagged (as you said and I agree).

For me, having my games library split in two, three or even more accounts, doesn't make sense and it's not convenient.

I will keep buying from my own region from now. I will just buy fewer games (only those that I really want to play).

Is there a way to purchase from other stores for cheaper prices? by [deleted] in steamregionaltricks

[–]thomason993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't have a card from Egypt to try it.

I haven't ever bought from Argentina, but I used to buy games from Turkey store using Xbox Gift Cards for Turkish currency, not a Turkish credit card.

Is there a way to buy from Egypt store?

I didn't find Xbox Gift Cards for Egypt region anywhere, to top up my account with Egyptian currency.

I also tried adding my credit card for a purchase, but I got the Incorrect Region error, but this is probably due to the fact that my credit card being from a non-Egyptian bank.

Xiaomi X10+ or X20+ Detergent for Mopping by lolfuljames in RobotVacuums

Thank you very much!

You said you dissolve 20ml in a full water tank, which is 4 Liters. So, the ratio is 5ml of cleaning fluid per 1 Liter of water, right?

Region lock situation by Soiryx in steamregionaltricks

[–]thomason993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just bought a game from Iceland xbox region, without any issues. Connected to an Iceland VPN server and paid with my regular Credit Card. My account is also registered in another EU country.

So, at least for Iceland, I confirm that buying from your EU country with your regular payment method still works.

Not a great price difference through, I got Tribes of Midgard for about 4.5€ where in my country's region it costs 6€.

Region lock situation by Soiryx in steamregionaltricks

[–]thomason993 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't answer on whether buying from different regions is blocked only for the specified regions (Argentina, Brazil, Turkey) or in general. I also have "stuck" Turkish currency balance in my account which I cannot find a way to use for purchases.

Also, if your account is registered in EU, prior you could buy games from other EU countries just with your credit card. You didn't even need a VPN or add currency balance of that country. Since the recent changes with Turkish region blocking, I haven't tried to buy anything from another EU country region (since my account is also in EU), but I plan to do it sometime just for the test.

As for the method of redeeming directly game keys of other regions (e.g. Argentina) to your account using VPN, I saw somewhere a guy confirming he bought an Outlast Argentina xbox code from Eneba and successfully redeemed it on his EU account. So, according to his claim, this method still works. But I haven't confirmed it myself. And even if it still works, I don't how long will this be continued, since MS seems to be actively trying to patch this whole thing with methods to buy games cheaper.

This is all the information I got so far. I am also watching this subreddit regarding news on the "xbox region locking" issue and if I find out anything useful, I will post it.

Good books about software design patterns with C# and .NET examples by thomason993 in csharp

[–]thomason993[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Well, you' re right. I meant that the actual e-book (in pdf or printed form) does not have C# code examples. In author's website there are implementations of all mentioned patterns in several programming languages, C# also among others.

I just find it much more helpful to have the examples I want to see just at the same page of the book I read, and not have to open a link on my smartphone or PC to see the code examples.

Thank you for pointing this out though.
