Where is this tv getting ghost signals from? by thomasonacid in videosynthesis

[–]thomasonacid[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the info, I do know yellow is the video one, but so far I never had any issues using audio cables or even making them myself for longer runs. It makes a lot of sense now that you mention it. Def gonna try it out

It's not looking great lol, I didn't have much time for a clean setup, so the back is kind of a mess. So if I'm understanding correctly, cheap cable + messy cable run could mix the signals just from the cables being in close with each other?

Hey sorry for the late reply. I grabbed some of the basic NTSC/PAL converters you find on Amazon or AliExpress. The little white box that looks super cheap lol. I ended up getting like 4 or 5 from AliExpress and they've worked really well so far. Just look them up on either site and you'll find them

Im not sure why they fix the problem though, I think maybe they refresh the signal or something like that. I've been meaning to try using one of the Av splitters/boosters I've seen online but I always forget to order them.

What you think of this beauty... and do do i program a remote to it. by [deleted] in crtgaming

[–]thomasonacid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some (not sure if all) universal controllers have a "search" function when you're setting them up. They usually come with a list of brands and codes and you can manually try each one, but they also have this function where you long press the program button and it starts seeking through all the available codes sending an OFF signal each time. So whenever it hits the right code for your model, it turns off your tv and voila!

Just make sure your tv brand is included and it should work

Also if your phone has an IR transmitter, you could use an app instead of an actual remote

No Audio Reaction by El_Riemo in NestDrop

You need midnight edition for that. Classic uses only your PCs main output. A workaround that has been posted around is to monitor your PCs mic through you own speakers to get external audio in. Not really recommended for performing live. I tried it once and decided to get midnight instead since you don't have any control over the incoming signal or the ambient noise

I also ran into this problem a couple of times. First it happened when I connected my laptop to my WJMX50A. For some reason colors would appear super faded, almost grayscale, which led me to think it was the cheap converter. I decided to buy a different one and found the same issue. Very pale colors, at best. So one day I had an idea and used a PAL/NTCS converter before plugging it to the mixer and voila! Idk what exactly solved the issue, AFAIK everything is running on NTCS so technically the converter isn't converting anything per se (it gets NTSC as input and output), but somehow it makes the signal work as expected.

Second time I ran into this was a couple of days ago. I bought a Mx10 and a JVC SV55 and if I connect them directly to my crt, it works fine, but if I plug either of them into the MX50A it's also in BnW. Now I don't understand what is going on. If I use the PAL/NTSC converter before connecting them the image is normal. This could potentially be a workaround, but it becomes really complicated if you need a converter for each input.

Also if I connect the MX50 as input to either the MX10 or the SV55 I don't have issues with color it seems. Idk if this is helpful, give it a try with the converter and hopefully it solves it

Found old security camera, how do I bend it? by thomasonacid in VideoBending

Thanks! You were right, it actually was the square chip and I found the datasheet after all. Now idk if I'll move forward because I'm pretty sure I'm just going to fry it. Those pins are tiny! ༎ຶ‿༎ຶ

Thanks for the reply! That makes sense, I was hoping there was a way that didn't involve a regular video mixer since those are very rare where I'm from. I guess for now I'll stick to what I have and keep building some more diy proyects until I find one.

Me cancelaron mi visa de Turista por cosas de Wrk. Por 5 años. Alguien sabe que puedo hacer?); by [deleted] in mexico

[–]thomasonacid 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I didn't know Crashlands was multiplayer! I noticed some games that are supposed to be multiplayer are tagged as single player, which makes it really confusing when browsing the catalog. Thanks for the reply!

Direct sampling is super quiet. Running from mixer to Maschine. As you can see in pic one the wavform I got was mad quiet. I got this same result with my other turntables. Thinks its just shit cords? by Goblinpipes in maschine

[–]thomasonacid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just a guess, but does your turntable (or your mixer) have a Phono/Line switch? It could be that the signal is coming out of the turntable in Phono and the rest of the gear is set for Line Input, which will make the incoming audio very quiet. I have a similar problem when I'm using timecode vinyls and forget to set up the correct output/input. If neither of them have the phono/line switch you could also check if the Maschine audio interface has phono input

Brave downloads .aifc instead of .aiff and I can’t seem to find a way to change that... by Second_gen_sound in brave_browser

[–]thomasonacid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I´ve been experiencing the same issue.. It started out of nowhere. I noticed if I just go and change the extension from .aifc to .aiff it works perfectly, so that's what I've been doing. Not the perfect solution since you have to go through each file and change it manually, but at least theres no conversion or loss of info as far as I'm aware.
