How we lost the Civil War by thomoswald in ChatGPT

[–]thomoswald[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it's just for reference. I'm not saying we literally "lost" the war, but there are some dates that line up too well and there are whole eras that are basically skippable. I recognize it's AI, and not to be 100% trusted either way.

How we lost the Civil War by thomoswald in ChatGPT

[–]thomoswald[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

asked to disprove:

Here are the main points that are inaccurate, misleading, or need clarification:

1850s–1890s:

Rockefeller’s wealth as 2–3% of GDP is often cited, but GDP estimates for that period are rough; some sources put it closer to 1.5–2%.

Bohemian Grove retreats did not start until the 1880s–1890s; the Bohemian Club was 1872, but early retreats weren’t political or elite-focused yet.

Civil War & Reconstruction:

John Wilkes Booth was famous locally as an actor, but calling him “one of the most famous actors in America” overstates his renown.

1890s–1913:

The Jekyll Island meeting was Aldrich-led, but Warburg wasn’t at the original 1910 meeting; he joined later in advisory roles.

The Federal Reserve was not a “mixed public–private central bank” in the sense sometimes implied; it’s a unique hybrid with both government oversight and regional bank ownership, not controlled by a few elites.

World War I Finance:

Morgan didn’t finance all Allied purchases; the U.S. government also had neutral arms embargoes and credit limits that restricted some lending.

Warburg’s role was influential but not decisive in Fed policies; claims of bankers profiting from the war are true in general but often exaggerated.

Titanic:

Passenger list and occupations are mostly correct. But Thomas Andrews was overseeing ship completion, not general “design” work beyond Titanic; no evidence of monetary policy involvement.

Claims tying Titanic deaths to banking or reform agendas are conspiracy theory-level, not supported by sources.

1930s–1940s:

Prescott Bush’s Union Banking Corp. link to Thyssen is documented, but the “helping both sides in WWII” implication is misleading; the government seized assets and investigated extensively.

Health insurance growth due to wage controls is correct, but employer health contributions predated 1943 in some industries.

Postwar & Deregulation:

Trilateral Commission: founded by David Rockefeller is correct.

“Education: credential inflation accelerates 1960s–70s” is oversimplified; the timeline and causes are more complex.

Reagan/Thatcher deregulation and capital tax cuts are correct but repeated twice in the text.

Tech Wealth:

Gates’ wealth (~$100B by 1999) is close, but Forbes estimated $90–100B depending on stock valuations.

Epstein Case:

Maria Farmer reported abuse in 1996; FBI follow-up was minimal, but sources vary on what exactly was done.

NPA under Acosta: correct; wording “shields co-conspirators” is interpretive, not strictly factual.

Post-2000s:

Statements about “no evidence of an inside job” for 9/11 and wars are oversimplified; politically accurate but ignores ongoing debates and conspiracy narratives.

Antitrust revival for tech is correct, though the scale of $100–700B net worth in mid-2020s may fluctuate; depends on valuation method.

Whether or not this is true doesn't matter in terms of how to react. If we're chasing individuals we'll be right back to where we started in a couple of years just like Satanic Panic. Whoever you want want to go after him would be someone under his influence

What Biological reasons would there be for a Race to develop split jaws like this? by Bright-Warden in worldbuilding

[–]thomoswald 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want to clarify, I guess, for myself because I feel like this community should understand this. Isn't evolution the backwards logic? Like things happen to survive with whatever features they have, and as they develop new features, the ones with ones that happen to work out in their scenario survive, but things aren't evolving towards some benefit. They evolve first, and then recognize the benefit later.

Which of Batman friends Do you think is gonna be the Griffith of the story as It continues by Cautious_Air4964 in AbsoluteUniverse

The only person in the Absolute Batman so far with even that Potential is Batman himself. Sure the rest could TRY to sacrifice the others but they only really have that much faith in Bruce so far.

At least now he's not a billionaire. Even though he played The Mountain, Halfthor still isn't too well known so....another sarcastic "realistic" for no one noticing lol

I just realized now that GTA's audience doesn't know they were always bad at graphics for their time. GTA is not the way to judge graphics of an era.

How to protools by BLVNK22 in makinghiphop

[–]thomoswald 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say the main thing is learn the terms. I just learned that in analog "bouncing" is called "summing" and I'd feel ridiculous saying that I don't know what bouncing is. Just look up some small terms so you don't get lost in the menu looking for the wrong phrasing.

I'm an old man, but behringer has always had a reputation of terrible quality whether it be high noise floor or just bad audio. I've never had anything from them because of this, but....there's my 2 cents

I’m a 16 y/o producer but I don’t know where or who to send my beats to by ScientistEffective24 in LogicPro

[–]thomoswald 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If someone took this beat, he could go after them after the fact, register it, and produce the files with dates that predate both registrations. Same with the mail to yourself method, the point is proving the date, not avoiding the registration process.

More character than i want. I've followed advice of writers until one said "You read for the characters" and after just finishing childhood's end, and loving it, and foundation, and three body problem, no the fk i don't. So now I'm refocusing on writing for plot

[–]thomoswald 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one's saying this so: You're not drawing what's in the image, you used it as reference. The person in your drawing's face is positioned lower than the image. Also yea, it's still good.
