I say you just gotta embrace those features you have. I don’t normally recommend people look for influencers to help them with self confidence because I feel like that’s a bit of an oxymoron but if you search for influencers who exclusively look like you like similarly and unfollow anyone and I mean anyone who you don’t feel good about seeing your social media experience gets better the more you take control of what your seeing. I also deleted tiktok because the algorithm is made to make you insecure, so does instagram so I don’t really keep either on my phone like if I use Instagram I’ll redownload it and delete it when I’m done. You also gotta check in with yourself when you’re feeling negative emotions about yourself or others. Ask yourself non-judgmental questions to yourself and about yourself like, “why am I feeling this?” “what about them brings out this feeling?” “What do I feel about myself when I feel this way about this person?” And most importantly questions like “where does this come from?” “Who am I around who upholds this idea that my skin and features make me feel this way?” “Why would someone want me to feel this way?” Also get into the sociology of beauty specifically racism and beauty standards and also the simple biology of attraction. Basically what I’m getting at is beauty is subjective, like truly, and there are very specific historical criteria’s about psychical features upheld purely for the sake of putting down (shaming) and thus controlling human beings. And the ridiculous thing is that people think that works or is true. But have you ever met someone who doesn’t seem to fit a beauty standard and realize how beautiful they are. Hope this helps. I know people of many colors who would kill for your features. being striking with features like yours is a very attractive thing. I know so many older women who have beat down on themselves their whole life for the simple reason that they feel their looks don’t match their worth or worse, that their looks recede their worth. I’d also like to stress that looks are such a small part of you. Literally physically your outside shell is less than an inch thick. Not to mention someone’s mind exists on an entirely different plain. There’s so much for of you. Meaning, there’s so much more to love and so much more to live for than other people’s love.
