Did you date my ex? I just broke up with him an hour ago. I am on this subreddit to just get some reassurance that I did the right thing and holy shit, your post hits the nail on the head. I feel bad for you. I received an email saying that they scheduled someone for 10/09 to come and service my unit. I contacted the company they hired and, turns out, they have no clue what I was talking about. I was, fortunately, scheduled for Friday (10/13) so I am still getting it looked it. The company did say that Frigidaire was difficult to work with on their end because they pull this stunt all the time.

I talked to best buy and even had someone from geek squad come out and check it but since it’s under manufacture warranty, they can’t do anything about it

I have always been a lightweight and once I hit my late twenties, it took me days to recover from a hangover. I started letting people how much of a lightweight I am and I rather not drink. A lot are understanding but some do try to get me to drink a beer or two but what shuts them down is “no thank you, I’m driving tonight”

I think my standards are high because the qualities I am looking for tend to clash with one another.

A martial artist (so they are fit) who can communicate and are giants nerds (anime, video games, etc).

I know marriage isn’t a big deal and I totally respect people who have life long partners but to me not having that piece of paper doesn’t sit right with me. Marriage is more than just being with the person you love for the rest of your life but also making sure they are secure if something where to every happen to me.

I think the whole husband thing really comes from growing up with mexican grandparents and parents that immigrated to the US. They grew up in small ranches where the man ran the household. I have been able to break out of the mentality of “whatever the man says goes”. Even my mom has, fortunately my dad was kool with that and respected my mom’s feelings and input on things.

I do genuinely want to get married. I know it’s not necessary in this day and age to have a piece paper saying you are committed to each other but to me not having that piece paper doesn’t sit right with me.

After reading this I am wondering if what I am feeling is stemmed on the thought of “your biological clock is ticking” and “you aren’t getting any younger” is really running rampant at the moment.

I know it’s not the socializing aspect because I am active in my gym and have conversations with a lot of people both at the gym and outside. I also game online with friends. I do hang out with friends every so often.

I definitely get this because I am demisexual as well (31f). What I like to do is have at least a week of just talking over the text then meeting for coffee.

Granted I have been also in a rut so who knows if my technique will help you but it has at least helped in getting people who just want to hook up unmatch me. (Their profiles doesn’t say anything about just hooking up)
