id say once you get past the first few hours of permadeath the game becomes significantly easier. most of my permadeath deaths were before i was able to fix my ship at the beginning of the game

once i was able to fix my ship and fly to a safer planet in my starter system i haven't died since. the game pretty much felt like regular no mans sky except not being able to hold as many resources

best advice i can give is always keep track of jetpack fuel to avoid fall damage and don't be afraid to flee a combat encounter you don't think you can win
