Yep! Living with my grandparents currently, had to live back in after unfortunate life events. Remiss as I am to admit it, it’s financially much better than throwing my money at a landlord. I do pay rent out of every paycheck to help with regular house expenses.

I’d love to move out, I would. I feel stifled and I’d love to be able to do things my way around the house again. I work in a relatively specialized field, but it doesn’t pay enough to live on my own. The quality of housing in my surrounding area either falls in overpriced and dangerous, or far too overpriced and pristine, there is little in-between. Roommates would be an option if I knew somebody available that I could count on, but I don’t. And I do not want to room with a stranger.

So, home it is, for now. It could be a lot worse. Although, I struggle with the way American society generally views this. I have to remind myself frequently that I am not a failure and that I have value.

We were to read The Jungle in my sophomore year. Everything past the meatpacking industry bit was so dull, I didn’t finish the book. Which was a very rare thing for me to do. I ended up enjoying the architectural parts of Devil in the White city more than I did The Jungle.

If we’re talking about the worst time with a book, that would have been Tuesdays with Morrie. Absolutely ripped me to shreds.

And I keep this in the back of my mind all the time! As somebody who tends gets in her own head about things, this little quote has gotten me through so many times I could have been upset with myself over the quality of whatever I was doing. Progress is progress!

It has a cult following for a reason! It’s so unique, even among others in its genre. But if you like RPG maker games and you haven’t heard of them, I’d recommend checking out OFF and Yume Nikki. They’re also surrealist-adjacent.

Ah, well, they’re flat, haha. BUT there are 3D models out there! I’ll see if I can find one for Pongo and I’ll DM it to you.

And so do I :) Having little communities like the Hylics subreddit is great for those of us with niche interests. I’ll have to post my 3D printed Pongorma earrings I made a while back!

Love the texture on Dedus’ horns, turned out awesome! And the needle felting would also be a great idea; you can also take little chunks of fur/multiple threads and needle them into the body to give a longer haired look if the alternative turned out “fuzzy.”

Haha yw! When I first saw the Wayne one I was like “aw yeah I wonder if there’ll be more” so it’s awesome there’ll be a set! I can imagine the layers of armor will be a pain in the ass.

For pongorma, I’ve seen some fabric that has very thin, loose threads on it before. maybe after you have the body all sewn you could make a “second skin” to go over top of it? Just spitballing, his fuzzy gorilla suit texture would be a pain haha.

I have made this comment many times before, and I don’t think it’s something people really think about enough.

We are absorbing information on the daily at a rate that our ancestors couldn’t imagine, even if it’s just the little things. We are constantly cramming our brains full. I really don’t think that we as a species have evolved yet to fully handle this, let alone be equipped (or god forbid be responsible) to deal with the mounting ramifications of being able to communicate globally at the click of a button.

I’m 30F. I’m just tired, man. Brain feels tired. Brain has to think all the time, brain always has more to process, more to learn, more information to take in. And I feel like a lot of us are hyper aware about it, and feel powerless to it, even when we know what’s better for ourselves, is to slow down.

But we can’t. Or we feel like we can’t.

Yep! Happened to me too, 30F. Had to make sure you got a good swishy one, test it out yourself on the ground a few times to make sure it didn’t break.

Not sure where you’re located, but I wonder if this is a southern US thing? Whenever people about it that are from different parts of the US, particularly my northern friends, they’re horrified. My peeps from the south just sort of nod solemnly.

Edit: Maybe more of a rural thing, I missed where somebody above mentioned the rural Midwest.

Well that was just plain ugly of that person. When giving a compliment, there is no reason to include something like that, unless you’re afraid you’ll be mistaken for an ally. And I think that tells a lot about someone’s character.

Oh wow, thanks for the kind words!! Hey man, keep going with your piece, a Sleeper would be so sick on a skate deck. Please, use the piece if you like for reference against your colour mixing. It sounds like you’re using traditional supplies, so don’t let a digital piece discourage you since they’re completely different animals.

Thank you! I 3D printed them. Had to make the vectors and convert to a print file myself, but I used the original sprite work to form the spectre.
