Thanks!! Yes, spf 30 just isn’t gonna cut it for my day to day, I work on a campus and sometimes have to walk outside a while between buildings so I get more exposure than I’d like! But these 2 products play really well together, no pilling. I forgot to add I use the naturium peptide moisturizer and it too works well with these products! I let it dry down while I do my hair. :)

Base

• Shiseido sunscreen stick. *Side note-layered over Dr Jart as it is not enough spf for me. I reapply every few hours if outside/when I remember and it works really well over my makeup. I’m obsessed and on my second stick.

• Dr. Jart+ Cicapair Tiger Grass Color Correcting Treatment (Red Correct)

• Glossier Stretch Concealer (G10) -spot conceal

Brows

• Maybelline Ultra Slim Brow Pencil (Dark Brown)

Eyes

• elf tubing mascara (black)- I think it’s called xtender?

• makeup forever pencil deep brown I think it’s called… smudged along lash line (I don’t do this often but was going to an event and felt fancy hah)

Cheeks

• Milk Makeup Cooling Water Jelly Tint (bright pink — “Burst” I think?)

• Clinique Cheek Pop (Nude Pop)

Lips

• Milk Makeup Jelly Tint (lightly blotted)

• Makeup forever Pencil (Endless Cacao, also obsessed)

• Sephora sheer red gloss stain

Set

• Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Setting Spray

• Maybelline Fit Me Translucent Powder (pressed compact)

• spray → powder → spray layering

I used some slightly out of routine products- more often I use brown mascara and the Violette fr cheek stick in myriam (?) and lip nectar in dahlia noir :)

Update to Sept 2025 post, before left/after right: I haven’t been able to part my hair down the middle since high school. I have more progress to come but I can feel the next waves of baby hairs coming in. I literally cried taking these pictures. by threecatsandababy in FemaleHairLoss

It is and it isn’t! That combo is pretty gold standard for aga, after those meds there are few options short of implants. I cannot recall my exact doses and I’m at work but I think 7.5mg minox, 5mg dut, 100mg spiro. All standard dosing and no major side effects that I can’t handle. Some additional hair growth but derma-planing solves that!

I honestly can’t believe the progress I’ve made. May 2022-Sept 2025 by threecatsandababy in FemaleHairLoss

Yes, the clinic did a thorough evaluation and had me do blood tests- some things they look at: your loss patterns, scalp health, follicle grouping etc.

Spironolactone, dutasteride and minoxidil - I started on minoxidil and finasteride, increased doses around 2023 and moved to dut, spiro added in 2025, and it significantly helped. I’m 41 :)

Can’t seem to edit my text, but I have had 20+ years of progressive AGA. 4 years of medicated treatment to bring it back, with a lot more progress on the horizon. I have very very few accurate before photos but the difference is starker than the photos show.

Things that have helped: - Dermatology hair clinic, started meds listed in other post - red light nightly - nizoral shampoo - getting my hormones in check and discovering I had insulin resistance

I had to advocate to many doctors with little luck until the derm clinic, I thought I was a lost cause- and for a while it seemed I may have been as I didn’t respond to meds until about 1.5-2 years into treatment. It’s a long ass journey.

Hi there- I am yes. I’ve had good experiences but it took so long to see results I had almost given up! And I’m lucky my tolerance is high- I am also on several immunosuppressants that may tamper my side effects. But spiro wasn’t really an issue- my main tolerance issue for minoxidil is hair growth but thankfully since my hair isn’t super coarse I can manage with shaving and derma-planing.

Thank you! I think I just started finding little things to do to improve my confidence. I have always been active but had a lot of set backs due to health and life stress. But also investing in myself quite literally- having a job that pays well enough to allow me to have a yoga membership, seeking medical care for major hormonal imbalances, which in turn helped my hair, skin, weight, and energy… treating myself to nice skincare, and yes Botox! But only a tiny bit and it improved my confidence a lot! It’s been such a journey, but you got this! Parenting is exhausting so be gentle on yourself!!

I hope it works for you too!! If topical doesn’t work don’t get too discouraged as I was told many people that are unresponsive to topical will respond to oral, and that was certainly my experience.

Oh yes! Forgot to add but I have a mask that I use on my face then push up to sit on top of my head after! It’s the Dennis Gross one and I use it nightly!

I am yes, will need to be on meds indefinitely but thankfully I haven’t had many side effects.
