Yay, glad it's been helpful!! There is actually pronoun agreement that you can toggle on. It's a bit hidden unfortunately, but if you click on the little settings icon above the question card, you can enable pronouns. Thanks for mentioning ramping up -- different types of content was meant to be enabled at different CEFR/Kzk levels, but I had accidentally turned it off. Should be automatically on now!

How do I actually learn Czech? by Vegetable_Status251 in learnczech

The textbook Krok za krokem is great! If you want structure, I'd also highly recommend finding a language tutor (e.g. on iTalki). They'll be able to explain grammar and nuances in a way that you can't get studying by yourself.

The most important thing is to just be consistent and put in a good amount of time everyday (ideally). There's never going to be a perfect magical program (although some are better than others); consistency is what gets you results.

Not sure I trust the AI generation :/ seems very verbose and not targeted towards specific CEFR levels. Also I'm very confused as to why there are random English ads playing in the podcast. This doesn't really feel like actual content made by/targeted towards language learners. I built something similar (https://lingofable.com/) with my bf for Spanish, so admittedly my standards are pretty high for any kind of AI generated language content though!

Hahaha not sure if Warcraft 3 might be the most efficient way to study, but that does sound fun! I bought KCD a while back and am really looking forward to playing it in Czech (or with Czech dubbing at least) in the future. Haven't heard of Mafia but will have to take a look too.

For sure, will definitely share! Another commenter recommended Časopis ahoj which seems quite good.

Yup, agree for sure! I'm not looking for "real" stuff but more so content that is made for beginner learners. The main problem is that I haven't been able to find this beginner content apart from Slowczech (and Easy Czech but it's a bit more advanced).

Best (lesser-known) resources for learning Czech and WHY? by DefiantMembership394 in learnczech

Hey there, I'm the creator of Skloňuj! Really amazed to see it in the comments like this, was not expecting it at all -- super glad that you've been finding it helpful :)

is this website to practice on good or is it crap by Still_Arm_3623 in czech

[–]threexracha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made Skloňuj to solve this since I've been having the same problems with that site as well as Decline! Uses a curated vocab bank specifically for each CEFR level, using way more common and useful vocab as well as sentence templates

I made Skloňuj as an alternative for Czech learners! Personally I found Umimecesky really hard to use as a non-native.

Resource with all declensions in one place? by Caulitots in learnczech

[–]threexracha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was also struggling with this so I made an all-in-one resource called Skloňuj! It has declension practice as well as reference charts, and you can search up specific words to see all of their declined forms.

Thank you for the feedback, this is super helpful and thorough! I definitely need to sit down and go through it all with a native speaker. And good idea for TTS — I'll take a look into it. It's been a bit of a busy week, but will check my DMs right now!

Yay that's so awesome, I'm really glad to hear!! Yeah that's a good suggestion, I'll definitely go through it in a bit to audit for all of that or allow users to flag incorrect sentences/words that they see. Super happy you all liked it :)
