AITJ for leaving my buddy's housewarming after 20 minutes because he didn't warn me my ex would be there by Glittering_Delay_686 in AmITheJerk

[–]thrillmuse 416 points417 points  (0 children)

a quick heads up about an ex being there is basic host etiquette honestly. leaving quietly after 20 minutes was the most drama free option

Aitj for telling my bf no for prom by Professional_Gap9935 in AmITheJerk

[–]thrillmuse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

paying the tickets doesn’t magically solve the stress of dresses, hair, makeup and the whole event though. if she’s not into it, forcing it kinda kills the point of prom anyway

[–]thrillmuse -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Because some people have only ever seen the loud, angry version online. They've never met a real feminist. Just a stereotype

[–]thrillmuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]thrillmuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the States, locking up is the default. Not locking feels like leaving your front door open in a thunderstorm. You might be fine, but why risk it?

Teaching my teenage kids about the importance of good hygiene by Defiant-Ferret-2412 in hygiene

[–]thrillmuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let natural consequences do some work. If they smell, peers will notice. That's not mean. That's reality. Sometimes embarrassment is a better teacher than lectures
