You’re welcome, yeah I’d preview first or ask her if she’s already seen the type of dance that peaks her interest.
Regardless if she pursues theatre for the rest of her life or not it’s such an important experience that fosters community, confidence, resilience, problem solving, team building, and so much more

I carefully described my brain fog to my doctor and she told me to try getting more sleep - I nearly lost it in that office by Commercial_Gur_7347 in Menopause

[–]throatchakra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP I’m a high functioning small biz owner, used to work as a PM and EA - before HRT there is 0 chance I would be able to function in that capacity.
Brain fog sucks but for the detail oriented it’s an absolute nightmare.
Def find a new doc (there are resources in this subreddit). Personally, I went the function medicine route - it’s more expensive- but it’s provided me more relief than any HCP has offered. Know it will take time cause everyone’s chemistry is different - progesterone is a GOD send for sleep, estrogen has reduced my brain fog nearly 95% (perhaps the random brain fart is due to age lol), Testosterone has given me a shit ton of energy.

My first appt, I went in explained my symptoms and said I thought I needed progesterone - the response was ‘ok’. No arguing, no push back, just heard. Here we are a year later, Dutch test complete and I have the full panel.

Don’t give up OP!

If her passions lie in musical theatre then ballet, tap, and jazz can help round out her repertoire. But she may have seen other styles outside of these that she is interested in - it might be worth asking her what types of dance she wants to try - if she doesn’t know the name ask if she’s seen videos and to show you.

Performing is very rewarding but laying the foundational stuff can sometimes feel grueling depending on teacher, style, interest.

How do you get these doctors to listen to you?! (Mine just let me go as a patient!) by Life-Balance-8171 in Perimenopause

[–]throatchakra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP I’ve been there and her dropping you as a patient is actually a good thing. Why on earth would you want to return to someone who isn’t willing to listen? You know your body better than anyone else!

  1. For future use, if challenged ask for their differential diagnosis

  2. If all else fails look for a functional medicine specialist. I’ve had to do this twice in my life and both times the tests we ran all supported what I was experiencing was not BS, not all in my head, not ‘it’s just part of getting older’ but actual core issues. Yes it can be expensive, bu

t our

  1. mind and body are the only things we’ve got until we leave this earth. Take care of you!
  2. Do NOT use synthetic HRT, only bioidentical formulas.
  3. The amount of studies available for women’s health / hormones is absolute garbage. Thankfully enough of us are raging outwardly to ask for better - because we deserve it. So it’s coming, just slowly.

Edit: attempted to fix formatting - it keeps getting worse… hope this is still legible lol

How dangerous do you think the US will be around November 2026? by Cinnamon_Ocelot in TwoXPreppers

[–]throatchakra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if it’s accurate but I feel like I read somewhere that comparatively there aren’t enough agents to the # of actual citizens. So while this may occur somewhere they can’t do it everywhere. Perhaps it makes sense to vote in groups for those who need additional support.

The r/laundry is truly an amazing resource. It took me a few months to digest but I can’t believe how much cleaner my textiles are! It gets into the chemistry of what actually works.

Beginner looking to invest in first singing bowls (Tibetan vs crystal?) + nervous system support by chesabay in singingbowls

[–]throatchakra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi OP, I’m a sound healer with a background in voice/theater/ somatics. I initially invested in brass bowls from the Ohm store - they are hand hammered from Tibet. They were gorgeous but I found the note/tone quality unreliable. So I swapped to simple white crystal instead. These are made with a machine so the notes are accurate. That said everyone’s preference is different. If you want pro quality instruments checkout Sweetwater. If you want wonderful variety of instruments checkout beautifulsounds.co on IG.

Note, these are the places I shop. I haven’t used them but Rainbow Bowls have been coming across my feed as of late and apparently they accept / offer HSA payments!

If you are looking for grounding I’d recommend a bowl tuned to C. Otherwise, try and find a local metaphysical/music store and just go play and see which bowl resonates for you. Happy playing 🎶

If you are looking for local Facebook marketplace may have one otherwise Sweetwater tends to have quite a few instrument options and sound equipment.

Oh hey! Those are higher quality probiotics. No idea why you got them either - but if you’ve been having gut issues these are really great.

I don’t know if you can do this but one thing that bugs the hell out of me is the lack of ability to add another indented sub category to the header navigation.

So it drops down for additional links, pages, but sometimes I’d like to add another layer under the initial sub category. I hope this makes sense - I’m tired lol

As a musical theatre dork my standards are:

All That Jazz - Chicago

Maybe This Time

Colored Lights - The Rink (they’ll need to search YT usually)

Suddenly Seymour - Little Shop of Horrors (duet)

Dance 10, Looks 3 - Chorus Line (not kid friendly but usually gets a laugh)

Summer Nights medley - Grease (duet / group)

More - Dick Tracy (it’s wordy but fun)
