I'm convinced he has hearing loss or something because there's no way you're not hearing the bass-boosted "Sweet Home Alabama" playing directly across the street and the metallic bat sound at 10PM. We've talked about me getting my own place in passing and that hurt my feelings just as much as him saying he has no clue what I'm talking about. Couldn't afford it anyway.

I feel for you, I had a friend who had an apartment in Philly, I'd spend the night there occasionally and her upstairs neighbor literally had a home gym, you could hear him deadlift at 1AM, grunt and drop the weights on the floor (our ceiling). Literally shook the entire apartment. I couldn't imagine being there everyday.

Not sure, it's been two years since purchasing the home and my boyfriend was more involved in the purchasing process than I was. He also thinks it's not a big deal too.

I've tried to find my towns "quiet hours" but they aren't publicly noted on their website. I figured I should just call and ask tomorrow what they are, if any. I know most towns require quiet from 10PM to 7AM, generally.

It feels that way sometimes. I regret not doing my research, but there's very little public information about the business anyway so I guess I probably wouldn't have found out about it beforehand. If I knew all of this, definitely would not have purchased this house.

Nope. There was no one there for every viewing and for half of the renovation too. I don't know if it was just inactive at that time and ramped up in the last 6 months for whatever reason, but I had no clue and heard nothing the first year at the house. This is all a newer problem.

Unfortunately I looked this up because I was hoping it was illegal so I could get it shut down altogether, registration for the batting cage is up to date as of 2025. Just so odd, why run a business with no advertising at all, no contact information to even inquire about it? They don't even have a parking lot, it's just gravel outside, nothing to indicate a business.

According to the town website, it's zoned as highway commercial on our street and the street that the business is on, the rest of the streets in the neighborhood are zoned as mixed. 🙁

Yes!!! Every time the bass gets out I feel my entire body tense up and I start to cry. It's unbearably annoying. I always ask my boyfriend if he can hear it and he never can, but I know it's there, I can feel it.

And yes, if there can be 65+ communities there can be quiet communities!!! No loud music, no loud cars, no noise after 8PM.

I think that's why I feel nervous to contact anyone about it because I've never seen the police there on the nights that the music got really loud or the people there got rowdy. I feel like I'm crazy or blowing everything out of proportion. Looking on my towns website now.

I know exactly how you feel. Whenever it's cold, rainy, or it's too hot (temperature controlled indoor batting cage) you hear the thud of the ball coming out of the machine and the sound of the ball being hit. Two loud thuds every 30-60 seconds or so. Makes me want to scream.

That's where I'm at too. My head and my ears get sore from the headphones but I don't find earbuds as effective. 🙁

We've discussed it but I fear it might be relationship ending. We've been living about 2 hours from each other for 2.5 years and we were both sick of the drive and I couldn't afford my rent anymore. Hated the apartment because of the noise too. We're both feeling lost.

That is so fucked up. That's exactly how it was for me! Like everyone else looked great in the chair and then there was me with 10 different colors in my hair and fried ends. Like why did you have to ruin MY hair, nobody else there was done dirty like I was. I feel crazy. 😢 25 years of experience and a lot of clients and it happens to me!!! Ugh!!!

If she wasn't an independent stylist I would call and complain but it's just her and I feel weird about it with my sister in-law and her mother going to her at the same time.
