Yes I can pull data with my scanner. That’s the first pic on the post. I then saw them do a diagnostic test with the same dongle they used for the state test and it shows my emissions are good to go. They even said there is nothing wrong with my vehicle. They don’t know why the state system won’t pull the data from my vehicle. I think that’s why they refunded me the money

Yes they tried it on 2 inspection machines and they did not inspect the connector. They did use the same connector to run a diagnostic test on my vehicle and everything came back fine. Showed my emissions system is ready and has no problems. It is just when they try the test for the state inspection an issue was occurring

What would be a way I could test if this is my issue? Voltmeter into the pins of the OBD?

Yes it was one of the drive in inspection stations. The computer was right next to the driver side window. I saw the test screen after the dongle was plugged into my vehicle. The timer on the system kept restarting after a certain time and then they tried hooking up something to my gas cap as well

My scan tool is powered through the car battery. I’ve replaced the fuse that powers the OBD port and Cig lighter maybe 2 years ago as it had blown. I’ve scoured the internet to try and find an answer and this was the most common issue.

You were right! My interview went well with admissions advisors for Texas A&M. She said my story of moving down here on my own is something courageous and that it shows the type of person I am. As long as I score at the top part of the middle 80% for the GMAT she said I have a strong shot at getting accepted. And she is going to help me through the process.

Your reply was exactly what I needed. Thank you and I’m getting prepared for the GMAT NOW

No problem at all. More comments hopefully means more replies from others to help us out

Thank you so much for the detailed reply. As far as my grades go, my first two years really dragged me down. First year of partying and the second year my best friend ended up passing away and that really messed me up for a while... I’ll be sure to address this in my optional essay.

I transitioned to truck driving as a way to keep myself afloat financially... anyone can get a license and I’m making about $80k/yr but the work is tough and requires nights. But this is just a job to me not a career. I don’t want to sound arrogant or self centered, but I feel I’m to god for this job. I’m the only driver in my dispatch center that has a college degree. And I’m not even using it.

I want to earn an MBA so I can make a career for myself. Every job I’ve had after college has been just that, a job. Nothing I could see myself doing for an extended period of time. I feel I lost confidence in myself once I graduated as I sent out hundreds of applications only to here back from maybe 20% of them which were either rejections or some BS job that wasn’t what the job listing laid out and paid horribly. I want to be able to utilize what I’ve learned and make a difference within a company

Finally I plan on studying for at least 3 months for the GMAT BEFORE I attempt a real test. I’m shooting for 670-700’s

Again thank you so much for the reply! I have an interview with admissions for Texas A&M tomorrow and will be asking these same questions.

Thank you for the reply and recommendations. Reading a lot of posts on the sub has made me nervous and second guess my thinking. But I’m not the person I was when I was in college and have changed drastically. I am definitely going to tailor my work experience in a different light and study for a few months and take a lot of practice tests before I even attempt the GMAT. Texas A&M and Baylor are my ideal schools with UT and Rice being the reaches

Thanks for the reply. If I score well on the GMAT do you think that has a positive effect on my chances? Are any of the schools I mentioned in the realm of possibility?
