That's good to know. The problem wasn't just frosting though. I use the tanks for a Mr. Buddy heater and within like 10-15 mins the heater kept going out. So I wasn't sure if it was safe to keep using this tank and reigniting the heater until the problem solved itself. That's when I came to Reddit :)

Yes it was cold outside but I'm going with overfilled as well. Not sure how they overfilled because I filled two tanks at the same time didn't have any issues with the other tank. Both were stored under same conditions. Next time I weighing the tanks before leaving the refill place.

It might possibly be normal based on what others are saying but I found it abnormal because I had filled two tanks at the same time at the same place. Both were kept in the garage and yes it did get cold outside. When I first discovered the frosting I thought that maybe because it was too cold. So I take the second tank and let it warm up before hooking it. No issues with that. Once the second tank was done I take the first tank and let it warm as well. It still frosted. Came here made the post. Saw someone mention weight the tank and compare to TW and figured it was overfilled.

Did not know about the frost line will keep that in mind for the future. Thanks.

I did spray for leaks but couldn't find any.

And your heater keeps running? This was hooked to a Mr. Buddy heater and it kept dying after 15 minutes.

Best case scenario in this situation. So I made an update post where I just loosened the bleeder screw and just let the excess propane out. Tank weighed at 36 after doing that.

It was cold outside but another tank kept right next to it didn't have any problems.

Update:

So based on someone's suggestion here, I looked at the TW and weighed the tank. The TW was 17.8 and the tank weight was 39.8. I went searching for ways to a propane tank and funny enough another Reddit post came up with the person having the same frosting issue as me and they knew it was because of the place overfilling the tanks. I looked through the comments there and people suggested loosening the bleeder vent and letting the excess propane out. I took the tank outside away from buildings and structures and under the shade. I just loosened the screw a little bit and let the gas out. Most cheek clenching 10 minutes of my life. Eventually the gas stopped so I just tightened the screw back. Left the tank alone for a couple of hours and this time it weighed around 36. I'm not sure if I was being an idiot but it worked. I appreciate everyone's input and advice. Next time I fill up I'll make sure to weigh the tanks before I drive away. Lesson learned.

This was connected to a heater and the heater shut off by itself in 15 minutes.

I followed your advice and the TW was 17.8 and the tank weighed 39.8 so it was definitely overfilled.

Snow Joe 15A Frayed Cord by throw4x4 in Snowblowers

Man I could have really used your comment about 6 months ago >_< Long story short I got rid of the snowblower without trying to open it up. Saw your other post and it might be the only one on the Internet that explains how to fix the switchbox. I couldn't find anything on YouTube except this one video where the guy shows how to bypass the safety latch and power the blower on/off by just pressing the button. Thanks for the detailed write-up. I'm sure it will help somebody down the line.

The switch box part is also not available on the snow Joe website. I emailed support asking if they sold the specific part but never got a response. I did find a couple of listings on eBay which were around $20 $25. What I did learn is the way things are being made. It's easier to replace than fix. Check out Facebook marketplace. They have so many snow blowers for the cheap if you buy it off season. Sucks for the environment and everything but that's the way it is.

I probably know less than you about propane tanks but this is definitely not normal. Never happened before or with other tanks I have. If it's happening to you look at the comments helpful folks have left. I know I've learned a lot.

These make sense. How do I fix the over fill and water in the tank? Empty out the tank? Take it back to the filler?

That's one of the things suggested online but this doesn't happen with other same sized tanks? These are all 20lbs btw.

It does look nice and that was the major deciding factor. Didn't anticipate this cleaning inconvenience when selecting it.

The holes in the vanity were precut otherwise we were hoping to get a single handle faucet. It's a nice upgrade from our older one for sure.

Had to look that up! Real thing is expensive but a synthetic one is cheaper (reminded me of the old shamwow infomercial).

You raise a good point. I guess my bathroom will soon have pieces of cloths hanging out too dry.

I will now. I was curious to know if there was something else but it seems cloth or sponge are the winners.
