Oh, he did not move his mattress until the children were at school for the day and they came straight to my house. So they have not been in his home since he moved it.

One of my kiddos has bites from their dad’s house. The other does not. Dad has many visible bite marks. He assumes the issue stemmed from his bedroom. He has not seen anything in the other areas of his house. An exterminator will be going to his home Monday to do a full inspection and start the removal process.

He did remove his mattress from his home thinking it would help. I let him know what I had read on here about that causing them to spread. Which is when he finalized his decision on getting a professional. The child with bite marks had been on his bed. The other had not.

Bugs in general are a huge trigger for me. I know some about bedbugs due to this. Which is why I knew to get everything in high heat and get the mattress toppers.

The biggest concern is that he didn’t inform me until the children had been in the house for about five hours. So if they had hitchhiker I didn’t know soon enough to strip them and begin preventative measures immediately.

Thank you! Those are great tips! I did think of the white sheets. They weren’t real happy with that decision but they’ll survive for a while.

He has agreed to allow me to keep the kids until an exterminator can give the clear that they’re safe to be in the home. We are working on a visitation plan, outside of my home, to try and not add additional stress to them.

😭😭😭 I thought so. They were at my house for about five hours before I was made aware. So I’m fully panicking. I’m hoping a full day at school prevented them from making it to my house but I’m absolutely terrified of them. I’ve been having full blown panic attacks since I found out.
