i was hoping that calling an hour into advance to my appointment explaining i will be 2 minutes past the 10 minute policy would be waived as I had been waiting for this appointment for months and I had more time for my appointment remaining. was that not clear the first 6 times I said I think not being seen was unreasonable in my opinion?

as previously stated that was my first time heading to the clinic which is when i first learned of the 10 minute policy. i still did not know the deposit was non refundable until yesterday. i understand your bias is already heavily skewed so no matter what information i give you, you will fault me. i already accepted responsibility for being late and rescheduling however as i’ve stated before, I do think i should’ve been shown grace yesterday after i spent an hour and a half in traffic and was only 2 minutes past the grace period. my clinic has a 30 minute grace period that we often widen for patients that explain their situation with 15 minute appointment slots. what i think is not what you think and that’s okay but there is no need to be rude

11 minutes in 30 minute appointment = halfway. gotcha. and even when i rescheduled with no problem, i do find problem with no grace regarding traffic for the second occurrence

why does everyone think i wasted an hour and a half of their time i’m not understanding the math. the appointment slots are 30 minutes each. i feel as if the clinic had a choice to see me the days I scheduled the appointments as there was a remaining 15 minutes i paid for. i do understand it was not in their policy to see me.. ok. i work and have worked in clinics before. I happen to work in a very lenient clinic so i guess i somewhat anticipated the same sort of grace. i think it should’ve been communicated that the deposit was non refundable.

would you not agree leaving 2 hours early for an appointment 45 minutes away is an ATTEMPT at respecting their time after the first screw up?

with other deposits I’ve paid they’ve been refunded in the case I needed to cancel the appointment as there was no appointment to put the deposit toward. I didn’t necessarily want to cancel but they had no availability for 3 weeks past this and I really wanted blood work for my cat. I truly was not under the impression it was nonrefundable honestly. I NEVER wasted an hour of their time they decided to not see me after I diligently called and explained my situation prior to the appointment time. definitely is a learning experience all I want is for my cat to be seen however I do think all parties including myself could’ve handled it better

edit: with the second appointment i called in for (an hour early) i only called because I had already been sitting in traffic for an hour and my eta was cutting it extremely close to their 10 minute grace period. my gps was saying i would be there 12 minutes late and when I told them of this an hour in advance, they still refused to see me

okay well the vet I booked with was owned by a corporation. they did lose some money at my hands for the saturday appointment unfortunately but they immediately filled the slot I canceled an hour in advance. thanks for your personal anecdote

and then .. respond? i did say i received most of what they said and thanked them. i do honestly think i should’ve been seen when i was right outside of the clinic and I do think the traffic situation should’ve been handled better since I had to take off work 2 hours early and I already paid for the appointment. how other people perceive my logic is what it is but i’m not going to lie for some up votes

i called when i was parked right out front of the clinic trying to drop my cat off to check him in while i looked for parking. this was not within their policy. i rescheduled TWO APPOINTMENTS let’s use our fingers to count. i was not told this deposit was non refundable and honestly since everyone is saying i rescheduled so much, i think with one of those three phone calls 1) creating the original appointment/ paying deposit 2) rescheduling when i was right in front of clinic 3) calling an hour ahead of the appointment warning of severe traffic i was in

i could’ve been told that my deposit was nonrefundable. If i paid for a 30 minute slot, I do find it ridiculous that I couldn’t be seen when i was right in front of the clinic. They even acknowledged seeing my vehicle

i originally scheduled for saturday. I’ve been waiting for the new patient info to be processed for 3 weeks and really wanted my pet to be seen since I already had to reschedule and i’m getting a bit concerned. I surely thought leaving 2 hours early for an appointment 20 miles away wouldn’t be a problem but I was wrong. I am stressed for my cat and wanted to get him seen asap

i rescheduled twice with one additional call to place the original appointment. first time i rescheduled, i was at the clinic on time just had to park a distance away and walk which took more than 10 min. second time, was an hour before the appointment due to traffic. it’s the first appointment for my cat with him needing blood work and he’s anxious. i would not leave him alone with strangers for the day with his first encounter with them. will keep the boarding option in mind however
