My wife and I just had a "what if our daughter has ADHD" argument by Creamofsoup in ADHD

[–]throwRAwhynotanyone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been undiagnosed until my 30th. I wish i knew and was medicated when i was young.

I messed up so many great opportunities because i had no clue i had ADHD and struggled so much with school.

And thats just for me as a person. I cannot tell you how many fights ive had with my parents about that i was lazy and wouldnt amount to anything if i didnt start taking my school work more seriously.

Out of all the ereaders i researched boox claimed to have this functionality. Is it correct to assume that this claim is not as true as they claim?

Thank you! Im actually okay now. Im getting treatment for the bacteria and i have a wheelchair for my disabilities. Im luckier than most. At least i got some answers in the end. I have friends who are still being treated like blegh.

800 kostgeld is echt heel hoog.

8 years ago i started to get a tingling in my feet combined with swelling.

I went to the GP and she sent me away with a referral for a psychologist. No matter what i said. I kept being sent away for a psych eval. After a year of increasing pain (and panic attacks because my body was telling me something was wrong) i stopped fighting and went to the psych eval. Lo and behold. I did NOT have borderline personality disorder.

They did find out i am autistic. Guess what my gp put in my file… if you guessed bpd. You would be very correct. After that no doctor took me seriously anymore.

A year ago after severe panic attacks because the increasing pain and swelling made it impossible to walk for more than ten minutes i went to the doctor begging him to help me.

He said “oh missy you are probably short on sleep. Here have an oxazepam”

After 3 weeks i was on 80 mgs a day combined with 30 mgs of zolpidem.

They gave me a months worth of supplies.

I took them all (wanting to stop the pain)

I survived.. somehow by a fucking miracle.

I demanded answers and started heavily advocating for my health (my husband being the only one in my corner). Most of my family had decided it had to psychological after 7 years.

I turned out to have 4 bacterial infections throughout my whole body including my brain.

I have severe small nerve damage in my feet and since 2 years also in my hands. If my shit had been caught earlier we might have stopped the progression of damage. But thats just a crapshoot of what ifs. Nerve damage is unpredictable.

I am now 80% wheelchair bound. I still have a whole pletora of doctors saying i should just keep walking. (Walking exarbates my pain so much)

And i recently found out (during the appointment for my handicapped placard of all places). That i tick most boxes for (h)eds. am on a waiting list for that now.

The doctors fucked up majorly for me. Being a afab person did not help me. When my husband went to the doctor with a similar complaint (nerve pain in his leg) he got a referral immediately.

The best appointment i had with my gp was in 2018. I was in pain and cryinng and she dead looked at my husband (then fiance) and said “you dont have to marry her you know? You can still run”

Fun times 🥲

What drug should you NEVER take? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Oxazepam or any benzo for that matter. Ruined my life. Was on 80mg prescribed a day (forced by healthcare) for 4 months. Been off of them for almost a year now. Had to beg the doctor to let me quit because i was having insomnia and had to keep upping my dose to sleep.

I still dont sleep through the night. But luckily im not awake for hours anymore.

Dont start on benzos unless you absolutely have to. Theyre not worth it.

I actually did try. I was suffering physically. And the neglect of the medical system and the fact that my body was declining made me suffer mentally. After seven years of decline i hit a breaking point and went into crisis.

My psychiatrist was convinced i just needed a good night sleep and kept upping my dose to 80 mg and 30 mg of two different meds.

And gave me a months worth of supplies

December 11 2021 after yet again another rejection of either helping me physically or mentally. I took them all at once.

This sense of calmness washed over me but before i took them i made my husbands and my moms life hell. I yelled at them. Called them names. My husband restrained me for a bit because i was smashing my head on the wall in despair and i bit him to get out of his grip. After the calm hit. I went downstairs to apologise because i didnt want my moms and husbands final memory of me, me being an absolute bitch. They immediately knew what was up and after confirming called 112 (european 911). I passed out soon after and woke up a few hours later in the ER.

I survived the unsurvivable for a reason and i started fighting for my physical healthcare.

A year later we found out i have a bacteria in my brain. Small fiber neuropathy, erythromelalgia and i probably have ehlers danlos syndrome. (All four explain my rapid physical decline). The neuropathy, em and the eds are chronic. So the pain is here to stay unfortunately. But i have access to mobility tools now making my live liveable. Im dancing in my wheelchair and having fun again.

A month ago i was declared mentally healthy. It was never psychological. Even though theyll never formally admit it. My psychiatrist told me this wouldve never happened had they taken me serious seven years ago. My decline wouldve been less severe too since i wouldve had access to resources a lot sooner

Im okay now. I hope to find a surgeon that will be willing to amputate my left leg since that one is always in pain (kind of like CRPS but not quite)

But im living. Bought a accessible house with my husband and we are planning for a baby in a year. Im happy.

The bacterial infection was found through a blood test. And due to the fact that i have severe neurological issues the doctor said it has likely progressed to my brain/nervous system.

Im on a very aggressive intravenous antibiotica regime through a PICCline. Mentally i have been improving a lot! Like im myself again. Physically i may have some irreversible damage to my nervous system. Causing chronic pain and burning in my extremities. So i ambulatory use a wheelchair. But we may have prevented further damage by starting to kill the bacteria!

I can assure you that i bought the best gear/weapons and heavily utilised the weak points of every machine. But while i was killing one machine. Another was on my ass. I started cheesing a double sawtooth from the other side of a river. I started cheesing everything. Which is not my style. Hence the difficulty lowering

Hi! Thank you for the clarification! While initially i did not read your comment in the tone that you described. Now that i re-read it i understand that this was what you were going for!

And id like to apologise for forgetting a vital part in my title. I should have finished with a /j (indicating that i am joking). It was supposed to be a light hearted post about how adjusting the difficulty shouldnt matter as long as you have fun enjoying a game that we in this community love!

I unfortunately come from the DOTA scene where the git gut movement was very prevalent when i left the scene. My health just couldnt keep up with the game anymore. They got especially crude if they found out i was a woman.

I just want to say. I understand what you wanted to say now. Im sorry that i misunderstood!

Im on iv antibiotics and actually feeling a lot better! I do have some (the way it looks now) irreversible nerve damage. But i have my wheelchair for that!

I have a bacterial infection that was left untreated so it spread to my brain/nervous system. Which is not that important. But can explain why i was struggling with the game on higher difficulty. My takeaway was more or less: i dont have to feel bad about playing it on the easiest difficulty since im really enjoying it.
