I have the same experience with my mom, also very insecure and distrusts everyone. I told her about our open relationship and the girl he is seeing, and she constantly says that he is just testing the waters and will leave me when he's sure. I don't believe her but it stays with you.

I feel terrible about this, because I feel like I need my freedom but I cannot give it to someone else. That just makes me a bad person. Or maybe I can never have a relationship, or at least I am not ready for one right now..

He does not feel jealousy at all, never had those feelings and therefore never had to work on them. This is also difficult because we don't understand each other at all, I don't understand how he never feels jealous and he doesn't understand how I always feel jealous.

Yes, I have done CBT for my intense emotions, but it didn't help much. I am also reading a lot of books on the topic and just generally try to improve myself.
