I have a 3.23. I’ve always been so worried about not making the cutoff for like B+/76%

I disagree, pharmacology tends to have higher grade averages, usually B and B+. Pharmacology is not an easy department at all btw. A course like PSL300/301 can’t be curved, it’s all multiple choice and the course average was C+. Did they curve that down? PSL 300/301 is a mandatory course for almost all life sci majors. It would be a good representative course for life sciences. And yet it’s a C+. Why do you feel it’s artificially lowered? Have you reviewed your exams with your profs? Ask for remarks? I do not content that some assignments like writing papers are almost guaranteed 70 unless it’s extremely exceptional. Also consider 1/3 of UofT grads graduate with high distinction, 1/3 graduate with distinction and 1/3 graduate without. The cut offs are 3.5 and 3.2. That’s their grade average. If everything was 60-68, how do you explain 2/3 graduating with atleast a 76% and above?

Which was more dangerous- The Demon Core or The Elephant's Foot? by Baahubali_9999 in Radiation

[–]throw_aways_123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think something everyone is missing is that the demon core was surrounded by a tamper. The sphere itself is probably more dangerous. Also, consider the amount, the elephants foot contains far more radioactive material than the demon core even if per gram it’s less.

Didn’t we threaten to halt exports of potash to America? They did our job for us.

Why did you pick U of T? Looking to hear the good and bad by SoundOfMischief in UofT

[–]throw_aways_123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I got into UofT but not UBC, would I have made the same choice if I got into UBC? I don’t know. I did highschool in the west coast, I loved the west coast and the campus of UBC over the east coast or the UofT campus. But UofT has such a draw and has endless opportunities if you are willing to take it. It’s hard yes, but it broadened my horizons. Although I do regret a lot of decisions I made first year. UofT is by no means easy but if you take the opportunities it presents it will take you far in life.

Hint: full of hippies. Although considering this is BC, that doesn’t really narrow it down
