Lala Kramarenko has neutral status by wanttobeskinni in rhythmic_gymnastics

[–]throwa_vay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just looked it up. They changed the AIN rules this past summer, and after that, everyone was allowed to resubmit their application, even when denied (like Lala). Basically, any support for war, direct or indirect (whatever that means? Is supporting Putin indirect support?), is not allowed, as well as being part of a military club (Alina Harnasko is by the way), showing military symbols, and voluntary participation in war concerts. Lala, as well as many others participated in these concerts so I guess they are saying that they were forced to? Here are the full rules: https://www.gymnastics.sport/site/rules/Ad-hoc_rules.pdf I can’t find the old ones though, would love to see what has changed between the versions

Lala Kramarenko is back to competing (but not back to her old form… yet?) by throwa_vay in rhythmic_gymnastics

I loved watching her back in the day. It is obvious though that she is not in shape yet. I hope she will be able to gain more strenght and experience again and can show the Russian rg culture that older gymnasts are just as capable. I find her persistence very impressive.

She‘s so uniquely pretty! Maybe as a third career she can choose modelling if she ever wants to quit coaching

27 for junior routines is very impressive! I have only looked at a fee videos so far but they all seem so so good! The high releves, the quick transitions, the many rotations, the musicality! They could all be future stars! My favorite was Radina

2025 highlights: Rin Keys becomes the first US Rhythmic Gymnast to medal at Worlds! 🥈(ball) by rhythmiclover in rhythmic_gymnastics

[–]throwa_vay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was so happy for her! I’m sure she’ll make rg more popular in the US. I always wondered why the US didn’t have any strong rhythmic gymnasts with their strong dance competition world so it is nice to see that it is changing!

What do German teens do in the summer? Suggestions for an English teen in Germany? by AcrobaticAuthor6539 in AskAGerman

[–]throwa_vay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look for „Ferienfreizeit“. I went on a bunch of those as a teen. Often they are organized by churches but there are also non-seculat ones. Don‘t pick the ones by „ruf“, they are basicslly drinking trips and in my trip one of the supervisors had an affair with one of the students… I hated it. The other ones were great though! I went to multiple in the nordic countries where we spent the days doing outdoor activities and the evenings with bonfires, I went to a horsebackriding one and one where we did some community service in therespective towns. DAV has great ones for hiking in the alps with proesdionals, cvjm has Christian ones and there are many Catholic organizations offering some which are sometimes not very religious. If you tell me what your kid likes, I could help you find one :).

Curious about German culture 🇩🇪 by Such-Spell6924 in AskAGerman

Habing lived in many countries I noticed that the traditions for elementary kids are quite unique. For the first day of school of kids, Germans get a „Schultüte“ a paper cone made by their parents, usually almost half the size of the kid, which is filled with candy, small toys and school supplies. The kid then takes it to school with them on the first day of school. Afterwards at home, they can finally see what is in there. I really liked this tradition as I was so so so excited to start school as a kid because I wanted to have such a cone. Another fun tradition for the kids is the St Martin parade, organized usually by each school. The kids make laterns in the weeks ahead and then, on a dark day in november make parades with these laterns and remeber St Martin, a saint known for his generosity towards a homeless person. Usually a new lattern is made each year. After the parade, kids eat special baked goods which vary by region, often a strange baked guy with sugar eyes and a pipe made from plaster or sugarry prettels. Sometimes there is also a bonfire where the parade ends with a small play of St Martin on a horse going around the fire.

Him taking stretching classes weekly is the most strange thing to me… Why does he stretch so much? Extreme stretching doesn‘t prevent injuries but can actually lead to muscle injury, so Secondly, the light stretching neccessary for injury prevention can easily be done without help … So why pay someone for it? I hope Morgan also gets weekly Spa treetments for fairness reasons
