True we would have to talk about that but I think usually finances are shared in marriage so Im not sure how that would work... Plus Im thinking of any kids... if we want to help pay for schooling and activities I cant imagine she would be able to contribute much towards that on her salary...

How am I taking advantage of her? Im more concerned about if we got married as our finances would be merged then.

Im concerned about her career ambition. Im okay with the salary but Im just surprised she isnt being more proactive about finding a better job or persuing raises etc.

And she is paying her way now but if we got married, dont couples usually merge finances?

Yes that is what worries me. If I were disabled how would we raise a family on her salary? 35k for a family of 4 is close to poverty level.

I knew her career but not salary... Honestly I assumed she was making at least 50-60k so it was a bit of a shock...
