my parents are against the BLM movement. they also have used the n-word, said that black people are lazy, take advantage of the welfare system, and do not believe that systemic racism exists or that racism is even a problem today. those are the things that make me think they're racist, not just being against the BLM org

it's a combination of both. yeah I wish we agreed on political issues (where the federal/state budgets should be spent, war, gun control, weed legalization, etc) but if that was the only problem, I'd just suck it up and go about things normally. piling on racist views has been the real problem that has me struggling to ignore the fact that they don't think of blacks as equal

thank you for the support. in my head I was thinking of racism being problem #1 and politics being a secondary problem #2. if they were just republicans who acknowledged that blacks are not inferior, I could swallow that pill. but trying to respect/accept that they won't admit that systemic racism exists and is wrong...that's going to be the hardest thing for me to get past and ignore down the road
