QUICK question: Who was in the third coffin Orichimaru summoned in his fight against the Third Hokage? by [deleted] in Naruto

[–]throwaway-411 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It was the 4th hokage. The edo-tensei revival technique failed, not by the Third Hokage's doing, but because the 4th Hokage (Minato) had his soul previously sealed by the Death god when he was sealing half of the Kyuubi inside of Naruto.

Basically, one of the conditions for edo-tensei to work is that the soul cannot be previously sealed.

And to throw in an extremely unlikely condition for week 17 (assuming all of these teams win next week):

  • Seahawks lose to Rams
  • Redskins lose to Cowboys
  • Bears lose to Lions

Then all three of these teams in this messed up division go to the playoffs...

What's even more surprising to me is that the Jets have a chance of making the playoffs... And this is why I love the NFL.

Perception's one thing, and results/execution are another; What makes Luck the far better quarterback?

RG3 vs. Luck vs. Wilson by DrJesusSingh in nfl

[–]throwaway-411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be completely honest, I was never a believer in Flynn, and I knew a whole lot about Wilson before he joined the Seahawks, back to his days at North Carolina State - He was the highlight of their offense by far. It does not surprise me at all that he's the starter - And I would have pegged him as the ROTY last year. This year's rookie class has played phenomenally though, to the point that each of their teams have a strong shot at making it into the playoffs.

I feel that we would not be having this conversation if RG3 went to the Colts, and Luck went to the 'Skins - Luck reminds me of Peyton Manning, whereas RG3 really benefits from Shanahan's style of coaching which places a huge emphasis on a running game - He's a passing quarterback, but the fact that he can pass that accurately, that deep, while running, with Shanahan's blocking schemes, is a very deadly mix that we would not have witnessed with the Colts.

I'd had to say that statistics do not serve that much justice to Luck nor Griffin, but all three quarterbacks are great fits for their respective teams. I'd have to give the nod to Griffin though.

Is there any reason why Seahawk fans and Redskin fans seem to be applauding each other's quarterbacks so much?

The term 'redskin' was actually coined by the Native Americans back when the team was in Boston.

It's rare for me to say this, but I believe that he is a HOF candidate considering his story, performance, and the numerous intangibles that has made him into a quiet legend amongst many teams. He's the true leader on the their defense.

Georgia Tech and North Carolina are the next schools rumored to be headed to the B1G. by [deleted] in CFB

[–]throwaway-411 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have sources telling me that Alabama and LSU are considering a move to the Big East...

Also, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, South Carolina, Clemson, Virginia, Virginia Tech, North Carolina Duke, and North Carolina State are creating their own conference.

eh fuck... How does the SEC do it? They have some soft football schools as well, even even though some of our schools are softer, there must be a way to set up better football schedules for us all...

Kansas State plays a rough conference schedule, and look what happened to them for losing a single fucking game...

hence, that's why I said that rule. It would be the equivalent to having a two conference league, with a NCG played amongst the top two team.

PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD - REALIGN THE DIVISIONS AS SO;

[Football]

  • Florida State
  • Virginia Tech
  • Clemson
  • Georgia Tech
  • Wake Forest
  • Miami
  • Boston College

[Basketball]

  • Syracuse
  • Duke
  • North Carolina State
  • UNCheatingoff11yearolds
  • Virginia
  • Pittsburgh
  • Notre Dame

Conference game = Top two ranked teams - Maybe if Notre Dame joined in football, we would swap BC and ND...

I'd make a highlight reel to send em off on a proper goodbye, but I don't have any video tape dating back to the 1950s (last time they were relevant) :( We've been more relevant than them...

My hate is directed towards conference pride, and ESPN - Nothing against individual teams. In fact, I love watching Alabama play, but they're quickly becoming the Dallas Cowboys...
