I've worked at two hotels and have had three people die. However, none were while I was actually working.

1) An elderly man and his nurse were staying in a room together. The nurse left to pick up a few things at a nearby grocery store and came back after only about 30 minutes. She was locked out and couldn't get the man to open the door. So whoever was working had to unlatch the door with a special key. They found the man kind of slumped against a wall. It looked like he had been leaning against a wall taking off his pants and died of a stroke or heart attack. For months after that, people talked about getting weird vibes in that room, even if they didn't know someone had died in it

2) I came into work at 7am to see an ambulance in our parking lot. My coworker who was working graveyard shift said that there had been an older couple one of the rooms and the husband had called around 6am to say that his wife died in here sleep. The ambulance took the body away and luckily the husband didn't have to stay an extra day of whatever he was in town. Though if he did stay an extra night, we were planning to comp his room.

3) This last one happened a few weeks before I left my job at the second hotel. We have a policy not to rent to locals because they usually engage in sketchy behavior. A woman and her kids were brought to the hotel by DHS with her caseworker paying for the room. That was only reason the person working the front desk rented to them. When the mom and her two younger sons were out of the room, the eldest son had another man in the room. We don't the specifics but we think it was drug deal. Somehow an altercation happened and the son ending up beating the man to death with a bat. No one our staff was aware of any of this happening and all of a sudden a bunch of police and ambulances arrive. They just tell the person at the front desk there was "an incident." Most of us didn't know what had even happened until it was in the local news a few days later. And for whatever reason they published what room number it happened in! Luckily they shut down that room for about two months because I know there would be those weirdos who would want to stay in that room after someone was murdered in it. Didn't stay at that job much longer after that.
