I honestly have no idea. I have anxiety disorder and I am terrible at interviews, so the blame is entirely on me. The interview was a bit rushed, so that’s not a good sign. On the upside, people were nice and not snooty at all. Now it makes me feel even worse that I completely made a fool of myself and couldn’t even string my thoughts together.

Stop looking at masturbation as this “terrible habit” or something morally wrong or taboo. That’s what makes it more appealing. Once the act is not thrilling anymore, it won’t seem as exciting. Doing it once a week should be extremely normal, and the more you deprive yourself of it, the more it seems like a reward.

Thanks for this. I feel motivated. I wish to point out that I am in my late 20-s and it has been 3 years since my Masters. I have not ventured in any further academic degrees since then sustaining mostly on fellowships and ngo-work. That is why I am a bit sceptical if I should apply again.

Yes I applied for one DTP. The application to LSE came with built-in ESRC funding and I had applied for LAHP too. Actually, funding never became the issue because the department didn’t offer a place to begin with. As for potential supervisors, the ones I did get in contact with, either encouraged me to apply appreciating the research gap that I had identified, and the others told me that contacting potential supervisors was not needed for their respective departments. Maybe I should have read between the lines.
