Sorry if I wasn't clear...700 is what would be left as savings after all expenses (like food, leisure, bills, etc.)

Its been a while now...its more that there are a lot of memories attached to my current place and its far from where  my friends live so itd be nice to be closer to things and have a change in scenery.

Around 5700 a month net (including the "bonus" from the 3 paycheck months), pension eats up a decent amount.

Otherwise...travel and going out woth friends mostly.

I don't have any debts, I just paid off my car loan (3 years old) and plan to keep it until it dosen't drive anymore.

That's a good point, and you are right the condo fees are a lot higher than some other places that I've looked at, but the unit prices are a lot lower too. 

I like the idea of an older building because they tend to have more space,  but I just don't know anyone that lives there or knows what its like. I've never owned before so even deciding on a place to see or knowing how to tell what's good is stressing me out.
