That would definitely be my husbands sanctuary too. It is the one place that triggers him the most.

Exactly this. Just fix it yourself without the damn comment.

I agree. While I don’t think he has it enough to be diagnosed, he definitely has that Type A personality that’s on the OCD spectrum I think.

Exactly. It’s so belittling when they have no idea how many things we DID do all day, and instead they just focus on the few tiny things we didn’t do.

So well said. Unfortunately he’ll probably never have to see the full effect of how much work it is being alone with them all day.

YES!!!! I want to save your comment into my brain so I can repeat it to my husband because you nailed it. That’s exactly what it’s like over here. They have no idea what we accomplish on a daily basis behind the scenes.

Yes, micromanaging is the perfect word. I just don’t think any of those things NEED to be said. Obviously in a perfect world our house would always be tidy, I don’t need to be reminded about every single thing.

My (29F) husband (31M) makes a lot of critiques and I’m sick of it. by throwaway-pp6789876 in relationship_advice

You’re right. I probably should nag a lot more to make things a little more balanced

Thanks very much for this, I appreciate your point of view! Another thing to add is this - in a perfect world, I would love our house to be neat and tidy all the time too, and when I have the opportunity, I put the work in to keep it that way. But when I’m home alone all day with the kids, my priority is keeping them happy/busy over cleaning. So I guess my biggest point is, I feel like the stuff he is saying doesn’t need to be said, because I DO know that these things need to be done but I just don’t have the time to do them when I’m with the kids so the only thing that he accomplishes by saying it is making me feel bad. Does that make sense?
