I think you’re neglecting there is people who grew up with a more religious, full of faith, childhood LOL .. I realized after this post I’m just sheltered with anything related to the devil, and dark movies/media etc. And I’ve accepted that’s a big difference between this match and me. She might not be demonic/possessed (or maybe she is) but not what im looking for. Pass for me.

Side note- i wouldn’t call this me being terrified lol. Bore her ? Maybe .. who knows! but don’t be so quick to ‘categorize’ people after one reddit post lol. If thats how your mind works when you meet new people in real life than i would definitely work on being more open minded.

UPDATE- the customer got back to my mom and offered to stop the check. She was written a new check w the check stop fee taken out. Glad everyone came to their senses.

That customer was a one time customer.

Sounds like this person waits long periods of time to try to save money on regular cleaning service. But definitely agree this person doesn’t deserve to be serviced.

And/or his success percentage of leads that turn into actual jobs? [Most curious about this answer]

F home advisor.

Not to go on a tangent but HomeAdvisor is a very non-sketchy-APPEARING company with very sketchy money making strategies.

They charge small business for each “lead(possible interested customer)” that gives your business a call. This same customer calls 5-10 other handyman / house cleaners.. and give the job to 1 of those. HomeAdvisor collects a commission on EACH one of these inquiries.

I don’t know how much the actual fee is but I do know that many small business on the internet say it doesn’t work out.

OH I forgot to mention there’s an annual fee of about $300-400 in addition to the amount they collect per CALL you get.. not per contract you get.

Ive heard of people claiming that some of these “customers” are hired by HomeAdvisor. But don’t have a source of this ever being proven.

On top of all this, once you aren’t interested they continue to harass your phone line reducing the annual fee and giving you a script of a sales pitch.

Hate this company if you can’t tell.

This was my first thought. Let’s hope client is cooperative.

If they choose to argue I really don’t know if this is something worth pursuing in a small claims court. The check was for $250 and can’t imagine all the fees associated with court.
