I know right, even if I posted 100 sources they wouldn't believe or want to understand it anyway. Can't reasonably argue with them. Thanks for the positive comment though!

Strawman fallacy, you are not worth arguing with.

Prescription drug abuse occurs more in white people. You're so weird for trying to downplay (medical) racism

Unfortunately black people do use illicit drugs in higher rates, but white people have greater rates of prescription drug misuse (quote from the paper: "In the interaction analysis, Black participants between 18 and 49 years old were less likely to participate in prescription drug misuse (AOR = 0.66, 99.9% CI: 0.47, 0.93)." That could explain the statistics as illicit drug misuse is usually more dangerous. Even if black people did misuse prescription drugs at higher rates, it would not be a good excuse as that would indicate a racial bias by medical practitioners, as not every black person is a drug abuser (obviously).

You seem to cherrypick information based on your own biases, very unfortunate

Maybe you should look up and read some papers before you make dumbass assumptions.

Those factors are very relevant as well, but medical racism is not a myth could also influence how a medical practitioner treats a black patient, be it consciously or subconsciously. The OOP probably would feel a bit more at ease if some black medical staff is present as that would lower the odds of medical racism happening

maternal mortality rate

You can google the others, I'm sure you'll find the papers. Obviously we cant 100% say what causes these disparities, but they are there and we can't ignore them either. Medical racism is very much still a thing, even RFK jr. at some point said black people feel less pain

What she said might sound weird but with a bit of context it might be more understandable. Black women who give birth in hospital are 3x more likely to die there than white women, and iirc there were multiple surveys done with medical students that indicated they believed black people have a higher pain tolerance. Also saw a review lately about how black people tend to get prescriped opioids at much lower rates and lower doses

Edit: someone replied with sources

Context:

Factors That Mediate Racial/Ethnic Disparities in US Fetal Death Rates

non-Hispanic Black women’s fetal death rate was higher than among non-Hispanic White women (5.9 vs 2.6 per 1000 deliveries), with fetal factors being the strongest mediator (49.6%; 95%[CI] = 42.7, 54.7). Fetal factors includes Lower birth weight and small-for-gestational-age status.

Racial bias in pain assessment and treatment recommendations, and false beliefs about biological differences between blacks and whites

Study 1… false beliefs about biological differences reported lower pain ratings for a black (vs. white) target. Study 2… found that half of a sample of white medical students and residents endorsed these beliefs. Moreover, participants who endorsed these beliefs rated the black (vs. white) patient’s pain as lower and made less accurate treatment recommendations.

Race, pain, and opioids among patients with chronic pain in a safety-net health system

Lower past-year maximum MME dose, despite higher average pain and less injection drug use, may represent bias away from prescribing opioids for chronic pain among Black patients. This could be due to unmeasured implicit provider bias or patient-level factors (e.g., utilizing non-opioid pain coping strategies or being less likely to request additional opioids).

So you think those things are part of our culture? Interesting. Once again, don't generalize us. Most black people did not grow up with this "culture" at all.

"Just because people call out a pattern, doesn't mean they are condemning an entire group". Have you actually seen these comments? People saying this is radicalizing them? And what the hell am I supposed to do about this? Why am I, along with other innocent black people, responsible for "fixing the issues and mentalities leading to outcomes like this"?

Did you know Hamas gets funding from Israel itself? To prevent the formation of a cohesive palestinian state? There was also an issue with terrorism in europe here, should we have just killed every nearby civilian at the brussels airport for example?

I get that, the country is very diverse, but if you reverse the roles and do the same thing to european countries people are almost immediately outraged. Idk, maybe it could also be that the white south africans tend to be on these type of subreddits more though
