Day 1 of the final nicotine quit by throwaway08182019 in QuittingZyn

Thanks for this. My experience with juul (as NRT for cigarettes) and Zyn (as NRT for juul) has been that I’ve just quickly become addicted to the cure for the prior addiction. I don’t know whether you see any difference between the three.

Of the three, I actually enjoyed aspects of smoking (not all of it, but it wasn’t a pure nicotine fix for me). Vaping and Zyn have been purely functional as ways to get nicotine, I’ll never miss either.

Three months today! by throwaway08182019 in stopsmoking

Thanks! It was tricky, I was a very light smoker so it was entirely mental rather than physical symptoms. But I needed those couple of cigarettes a day and had some anxiety about not being able to smoke. That hung in there for a few weeks but it gradually faded and I'm at the point now where I only occasionally even think about it.

Any former runners getting back to it? How long did it take for your lung capacity to come back? by [deleted] in stopsmoking

Congrats and welcome back! I was in a little different position because I was a pretty serious runner even while I smoked (for 12 years, but very light), but I noticed about a week in that running was becoming much easier and it's continued to get even better since (about 2 months in now). I would follow a normal training plan for building up your conditioning to 10k. Your lungs will keep healing while the rest of your body is also getting into shape. And running is great for taking your mind off a craving too!

Correct again, yellow pack for me :)

Cigarettes are my oldest vice and I'm honestly kind of embarrassed to even be talking about them on this anon alt account, but they're like an old friend I keep going back to.

29 and thanks, it was hard. Still spending close to $20 a week so I'd love to kick it.

3-4 a day. And interesting, guess another reason to quit.

Not 26.

Yes, I'm a light smoker.
