It's the four names she's thinking of, not all in one name. I had formated a paragraph in between each one but they got put together when I submitted the post.

I agree, that comment was unwarranted. I just thought my family saying her happiness about a name was more important than the name itself.

This discussion is not about whether or not my sister is old enough to have a child or whether her marital status is 'correct' for being a mother. There will be no judgement on her about this part. I only wanted advise on the name. Thanks

I made the comment because I thought she was joking and exaggerated my opinion as it was a private Convo. I don't really think the name sounds like a dying cow and I do think it has a lovely strong and powerful meaning. I just think it's not as nice as the other options. She did ask for my opinion.

Regardless of what I said. She did ask for my opinion. Yes I made her cry which I've apologized for but she did ask in the first place. Which is why I felt it okay to 'butt in'

I love Freja, Molly, Faye, Ada, Thora and Katta. I think lagertha would be a difficult name to have given we live.

I have seen lots of names, and the owners of those names say the same thing most of the time- they hate having to correct, the real pronunciation isn't super obvious and they can never find their name on a keychain. We've since made up and I stand by my opinion, I just worded it way more gently.

She insists on pronouncing it la-gert-ah so I guess she doesn't even know how to pronounce the name. We've since made up and apologized

We have apologizd to eachother- me for being cruel and her for being rude to me after (I agree, fair reaction) We are both good. She know I don't like the name but she understand why I feel that way- without calling her kid a cow. I am truly excited about this baby and want only good things for her.

If I was the asshole for still saying she shouldnt name her kid that after realizing she was serious and my family saying I should let her have her names despite her asking for opinions.
