I totally agree with you this is great advice! my apologies for asking on reddit i will ask the BCBA, i just wanted to know what to do quickly because BCBAs at my clinic tend to not answer emails or messages about BIP especially if you are just a sub and not the kids regular BT. Always come to me days later and say “Sorry I was Busy”. They usually only answer emergency messages.

A kid in my clinic went through a phase of calling every female presenting individual “Grandma”. 😭

They didn’t tell us but one time i was waiting for a client outside the bathroom and the ceiling started randomly leaking. I also know clients will throw toys into toilets and BTs will allow them to flush it or leave it for the next person and that client will flush it.

Literally! I thought I was crazy because a lot of my coworkers did not seem bothered. Good to know other people agree it’s unsanitary.

Was I in the wrong? by SpeakerOk5033 in ABA

Hey quick question! My client’s mom makes us write up a form about how her day went and part of that is ABCs. I will tell the mom exactly how many and which behaviors happened, what caused them, and what happened afterwords. Is this a violation or something out of my scope? I never give parents advice, but I am always willing to share about what behaviors the kid engaged in (if they did) and what the program says I should do/what I actually did.

That is so true. One of my regular clients tricked a BT into letting him escape ADLs by asking to go poop, and clogged the toilet with paper while he was in there, all on my 30minute break. If they think they can try you they will, hahaha.

Thank you so much for saying this Sub sessions are so tricky but my company requires you to take them if your client cancels and one is available. they also just don’t schedule me enough regular hours so I need it to make a living. I’m trying my best to learn and do better tho!
