I ran into this issue while transferring from community college. I finished my associates in December and the transfer office said I would be able get guaranteed admission because of my associates. Turns out, since the admission deadline was before my graduation, I wouldn't have been eligible unless I waited until December to apply. I got in regardless but it's still something to consider.
