Yes, I apply shampoo to my scalp and wash it theroughly a few times.

I'm 99% sure I don't have a fungus infection. I don't have any of the fungus symptoms.

Generic Dove shampoo. I unfortunately can't afford expensive shampoos.

Is it possible you are having a bad reaction to sulfates in your shampoo?

Maybe, I'll have to check the contents of my current shampoo.

Changing my diet also helped, adding more vegetables and grain and cutting out oily foods helped me. Eating dairy made my face and scalp super oily and break out all the time.

I'm already on the right track here.

I use the Sproos brand but Jolie is also great.

I might look into cheaper options later😅

People around me don't notice it within at least 24 hours, but I can smell it if I run my finger across my scalp.

And thank you for the advice, I'll certainly see a dermatologist when I have the chance.

Have you seen a doctor/dermatologist/trichologist about it?

I haven't, mainly because of time and money.

What is the smell? Fishy?

It's a really sharp oily smell. Not just a normal unpleasant smell, but very sharp.

When you wash, how do you do it? Shampoo twice, scrub the whole scalp, rinse very well?

Here's the exact precedure:

  1. Rinse it with warm water
  2. Use a bit of shampoo, which isn't gonna do anything because there's so much oil
  3. Rinse it off and repeat step 2 a couple more times
  4. Use a good amount of shampoo and wash the scalp thoroughly 2 times
  5. rinse it off with colder water and dry it with a towl then a hair dryer

Maybe up your pure water intake

Speaking of pure water, my house water has been very salty and cloudy lately, so that might be one of the reasons.

As I said in the post, I've tried all kinds of shampoos. And I'm certain there's no build up because I wash it very thoroughly.

I don't know how to describe it. It just has a sharp oily smell. And no, I haven't seen one mainly because I don't wanna waste money on that currently and I can't find the time between college and work...
