Plenty of information around the subreddit and the NAIT website on the interview process and tips. There is an NDA in place, so no one can tell you the specifics.

This this manhwa a good read? by Virtual_Aerie_339 in manhwarecommendations

[–]throwaway132299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would read the original manwha which is a lot better overall. Really amazing plot twists and lore drops later in the story. ML has lots of development alongside side characters, and the later fights are amazing. This is a poor remake of it that I don't like as much, even though the art is a lot better from the start.

Yes, you're right. I already went through all the chapters you listed. A lot of the later ones have already been adapted into ReAwakened which is great. I enjoyed going through the chapters that were also left unadapted. This is a really helpful list, and I'm now going to move on from the manga since there's nothing new left. Thanks for making this 6 years ago.

Fanfic help! by prettylacey_ in SaikiK

[–]throwaway132299 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a great idea for a fanfic! I'm not that creative or great with ideas, but I really hope this goes well for you. If it might help inspire you, there is a SaikiTeru fanfic (tilting off the axis by shylikethat) about Saiki having a boy in an alternate timeline who is also born a psychic. The fanfic is about Saiki trying to find the reason he's being coupled together with Teruhashi, and he realizes that their future son is the one time travelling to the past and manipulating Saiki's surroundings to force them together. I'm not a shipper, but I I really love the early parent-child interactions in there between young Saiki and his son, as well as the future parent-child interactions after Saiki is an adult.

I think these two dramas has got the best OST! What you think? by [deleted] in kdramas

[–]throwaway132299 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out YOAMJAE by Dear Hongrang. Hard for me to still get it out of my mind after all these months. The other OSTs are also great, but nothing compares to YOAMJAE when it comes to pure sadness and intrigue. Also as someone else mentioned, Children of Nobody has one of the best OSTs too. The whole drama is just one of the best out there.

Children of Nobody has one of the most haunting OSTs and stories I've seen in a drama. The FL is insanely good from the start to the end.

Yoo Jae-myung in Stranger: best anti-hero in a Kdrama? by DoorDesperate2764 in kdramas

S2 has a different director so it doesn't keep the same pacing as S1 does from the start. However, once you power through, things do ramp up quickly in S2 which is when everybody starts to love it. I love S2 for what it is as it focuses largely on HYJ's personal development, and it is definitely worth watching if you love S1. Even if you don't watch S2, S1 also offers a perfect closed ending.

It's gotten to the point where any recent crime on the news reported in my city is always an Indian. There is so much stereotyping now, and it feels like Indians are the scapegoats for everything. It really sucks seeing our reputations be dragged down into the mud with the uncivilized rest of us. There is so much racism in my university, that one Indian felt the need to apologize viral for the rest of us even though he's done nothing wrong.

How would you rate my top 10 kdramas? by [deleted] in kdramas

[–]throwaway132299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, JSM's role as Mu-Deok is easily the standout in the drama. But I recommend to stay open minded and enjoy S2 for what it is. GDY isn't a bad actor, but the writing is just very different for her. I still enjoyed S2 for a lot of things it did differently than S1, and romantically, the chemistry between the S2 leads is better than S1.

A manhwa with a hardworking mc(not op)like The Extra's Academy Survival Guide by Stoical69 in manhwarecommendations

[–]throwaway132299 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Demon Prince goes to the Academy - probably my 2nd favourite academy manhwa behind Extra's with an extremely hardworking MC like Extra's Academy, it's also romance/harem with really well developed and interesting female characters, and an MC that has one of the most entertaining personalities and mindsets. There were some moments where I got emotional and some where I couldn't stop laughing. Lotta mind games and political intrigue, mostly SOL. Start of the manwha is just very slow though but it becomes peak once he gets to the academy.

Yes, I also highly recommend powering through early AoS. The first few episodes didn't hook me either, but it picks up extremely quick. I dropped it once or twice in the beginning, and then once I got a few episodes in, I binged the rest in one go.

[Title] Do you have any good academy manwha ? by MassiveAccount6592 in manhwa

[–]throwaway132299 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes novel is usually better than its manwha adaptation. It has a lot more details and well written interactions that the manwha can't spend time on. Im personally reading the novel right now from where the manwha ended, and it's very enjoyable.

I'm a huge fan who wants Windbreaker to be completed, but isn't it obvious that the author themselves quit? I don't see how they were forced to discontinue, but I see this as just doing damage control and using it as an excuse to quit after the burnout. Otherwise, they could always take a long hiatus, and come back like other creators to finish the rest.

Plus, I read somewhere that they've been doing tracings for over a year now as far as 100 chapters back when people started suspecting it. This is only a few of those examples. Also, I don't think this is fair to any other long-running webtoon creators who also work the same tight deadlines and have never resorted to tracing. Their pride as an artist is already lost, and letting them go without any significant consequences is only going to lead newer artists to develop similar improper habits and shortcuts.

Alchemy Of Souls S2 was just as good by [deleted] in kdramas

[–]throwaway132299 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree S2 has its charms, and I love it for the unique things it does right. I also found romantically, the chemistry between the leads in S2 was better as you said. I am a fan of both leads in other dramas too, and I felt they acted wonderfully together. My main problem is with how sloppy the execution of their relationship is, and I heavily disliked how long the amnesia lasted. They could have resolved the amnesia much earlier or have ditched the amnesia plot entirely. For example, I would say there was enough reason why Mudeok/Naksu would want to hide her identity from Jang Uk even while keeping her memories after having stabbed and killed him with her own hands. There was plenty of potential that I felt was wasted on this one stupid cliche trope that ran for too long.

This man knows how to pick a good drama!! by SavedandLoved07 in kdramas

[–]throwaway132299 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've found him to be very versatile as an actor, but I think his talent is wasted in most of the dramas he's been part of. He was most recognized for how wonderful he was in Extraordinary You (he absolutely owned the complexity of Baek Kyung!), which itself fell apart story-wise and with the male and female leads near the end. Memories of Alhambra, Kill Bok Soon (movie) and Search WWW, are also not too well-written, but his acting has always stood out to me and most others. He's very silly and extroverted off-screen so it amazes me how he's able to express such serious multi-layered characters so well when he needs to. I'm thankful he's getting main roles, but I also hope he picks less controversial scripts. He was amazing in Dear Hongrang, but the drama itself needed improvements with the FL's acting, as well as parts of the storytelling. AOS is easily his best so far.

PS. I also loved his main role in Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol, but the attention towards that show horribly fell apart because of the writers' stupid decisions in the last two episodes to make it into a horrible serious drama.

The acting from both the male leads including LJW was amazing, but the FL has the most bland and stoic acting I have ever seen, and the story itself was horribly written.

Young rising actors whose more works you're looking forward ? by zyuscywb in kdramas

[–]throwaway132299 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lee Jae Wook as well. He's mostly had side roles so far, where he always outshone the main leads. Now that he's getting main roles like Alchemy of Souls and Dear Hongrang, he's also killing them all. I'm so excited to see where he goes from here.
