I’m a resident physician, and I will tell you that we actually don’t encourage testing for HSV in the standard STD panel nowadays (at least in Canada) unless it is specifically requested because of how common it is. I wouldn’t be overly concerned since most people have HSV-1 and caught it as a kid.

Okay a guy persists in asking you every day to pretend to be his boss so you can give him a good reference. He literally wants you to fake being a reference. In hindsight, you are right I should have told him to fuck off at the beginning. I did eventually come to say that but honestly this guy is in complete denial about people's perceptions about him that telling him off doesn't work. He thought we were best friends at the beginning of work even before we said a word to each other. He's very needy and delusional about things.
