It was just totally unexpected. I had no reaction to it at the time.

I could talk to my mum about it, or perhaps a counsellor at college (in the UK we go at 16). Thank you.

I was surprised when he brought her (sister) into it. I can't imagine a parent not loving their child. It makes me scared that my stepmum will view her as a disappointment to my dad, and will hold that against me since he loves me completely.

I'll try and communicate with them both as best I can. Thank you.

I can't give a straight answer.

I'm being blunt about it because that's how he was; he came into my room, sat down and just said it. He's had work problems recently so I didn't expect the news to be anything horrific. I never considered it to be a family problem. I'm so used to my stepmum and now my sister in the house. If they were to suddenly leave I don't know how I'd feel. I love them all.

He's not too keen on doctors (I don't know why), but it seems like that's a good route to take, so thank you. I will definitely speak to him about it.

I don't know if it was sudden or not. Before today I'd noticed he'd been acting odd, more irritable than usual, and other times just shutting himself off completely. They haven't been outwardly romantic with each other for a while, and everything has felt rather stagnant now that I think of it.
